Summary Checkers Xceed Monitors Technical information and specifications

I tried those settings, it displays but the image is definitely scaled. OSD also says its running at 1080.

I guess its the luck of the draw.

Do you know how to get into diagnostic mode on this display?

I used the below website. It gave me 2560.

That proves nothing. It merely means that the Windows environment is being rendered in 2560 x 1440.

You'll need to perform a manual pixel count on the monitor to check for scaling artefacts / bleeding across actual pixels.

This is the same argument as cranking a higher custom refresh rate, only to have the monitor skip frames - you won't know till you check it properly.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
(I am working through mobile graphics on the original HMDI included)

I can set the resolution using CRU using @aiccc 's recommended values, however nothing over 60hz works at 1440p. Additionally, once its set to 1440p at 60hz it definitely looks worse... blurry text but it does "zoom" out like what a 1440p would do compared to a 1080p setting (not sure what the correct name for that is)

Hold the stick to the left for more than 5 secs. note you need to power off the display to get the normal menu.

Btw you need the ensure the active pixels are correct/changed as well. did you check?

Someone please send me one of these so i can resolve this for everyone :) will have my couriers collect and deliver back once done

@Oj0 can vouch that i have the facilities to test this :D

Please see the first post. See images.
The images show exactly what he is saying. Desktop environment being rendered at 1440p. Your comment about fuzzy text, and the guy above saying that it looks worse than it does in 1080p, pretty much confirms that it’s a 1080p panel where control allows 2560x1440 res to downscale to 1080p (with some custom resolution gymnastics).

Potato pics, shot with potatocam, hosted on potato image host. Very convincing.

The only thing I'm seeing, is softer cross-bled text in 1440p, which substantiates my point.

Windows is rendering in 1440p, because it's being told the monitor accepts a 1440p signal. It proves nothing. The monitor is accepting 1440p, and internally rescaling it to fit a 1080p panel.

The proof doesn't lie in Windows and what resolutions you can set your desktop / games to... it lies in how many physical pixels are on the panel itself.

The fact that you don't seem to want to comprehend this, doesn't bode well for your argument.

Hi everyone! I am new to the forum, coming from MyBB side. I purchased the 27" Monitor from Checkers and have had the following issues, Ill try be as descriptive as possible.

I have a GTX 1070 card witha DisplayPort 1.2 cable

In games, using Gsync ON (Full screen, max performace) my screen will flash on and off, like a reset. This happens often in loading screens (seems because the framerate drops below the minimum FreeSync framerate), however it also happens in game from time to time, I don't notice a FPS drop but it goes off and on randomly).

What I have tried:
New DP cable -- No difference.
Gsync Off -- Issue completely resolved.
120hz -- No difference
Vsync on in games -- No difference.

I then read about FreeSync frame rates and dropping the minimum using CRU. I tried dropping FreeSync Framerate from the standard (48 - 144) to 35 - 144 but no luck, even worse it seems. However I then increased the Min framerate to 60 (my thoughts are if its trying to run FreeSync at a lower framerate that is whats causing the issue, so forcing it to only try Freesync from 60fps seemed good for me). This seems to have worked, the screen flickers a bit in loading but never goes off and on. I will test more tonight.

Is anyone else experiencing these issues with Gsync/Freesync? If I use HDMI all is good because no Gsync. I'm getting to a point where I may just forget about Gsync, but I'd love to get it all sorted!

Thanks

Sounds like it's not 100% gsync compatible than.

Please post results here if you do this. Been following these threads like a Netflix series... I think i'm ready for the season finale :ROFLMAO:

So this is the only way I have been able to stop the flickering / turning on and off. Lowering the FreeSync range makes it worse. With these settings even low drops are fine. I will test them out more tonight but as of now no flicker.

I used a iphone xs max. Not upgrading to the iphone 11 as yet (not a tenderpreneur.) I would rather buy cheap monitors with my money.

So sorry the photographic equipment did not meet your lofty expectations.:ROFLMAO:

Yeah I have been having the same problem in games and now and then in windows.
turning off gsync fixes the issue..seems no gsync for us

Xceed has a 1080p panel that can upscale to 1440p, was the same in my case with a Harwa 32" LED TV thinking it was a 2160P UHD panel and it turned out to be a 720P panel with a upscale to 3840 x 2160 (2160P)

Will also depend on the batch you get, some of these cheap no name screens can upscale, some can't. not sure why, but I have seen it with the Harwa 32" TV I bought.

@𝕎𝕚ℤ𝕒𝕣𝕕 helped me realize it is a upscale "HD panel", I am sure this might be the same ?

If that's your singular takeaway from what I said, then you're even more deluded than initially apparent.

Carry on with your "1440p" monitor - believe what you want - there's apparently no reasoning with folks too clueless to realize they don't even know what they don't know.

How are you getting the 1440p @120hz to be "native" ? is it only through dp cable?

Note the cables definitely affect the max refresh rate. I tried a bunch f no name brand cable. They have limited my refresh rate.

Resolution Advertised 1080P but IT CAN DO 1440p at 120 hz. (see pictures below)

Gsync range at 1440p.
Minimum fps = 50 hence minimum refresh rate = 50 hz

anything below 50 causes the monitor to flash a black screen(tested using Nvidia pendulum video)

xceed at 1080p

Xceed at 1440p

27 inch Xceed monitor settings (120hz at 1440p)

Proof 1440p 120 hz

Hi All, so I have the 27" screen, normally with the Joystick at the back, when i push it left it opens up the settings tab, where I can enable FreeSync, etc. However now when I do this it shows the below screen. Also, all of a sudden, when my pc is turned off the screen flashes Red / Blue / Green with settings posted on screen. Any ideas?

@aiccc, you say the 24" panel is SAMSUNG LSM236HP02-G, but that can't be right, since it is a 1800R curved PVA panel.

Looking at your pic of the back of the monitor, it clearly looks exactly like the Newsync DP24 144 PLUS. Just the base of the stand is different:
A90V_131813571084217249JmXFPJMtqp.jpg

That monitor is a TN panel, it must be the same monitor just re-branded for Checkers. Linus has a review of the Newsync monitor from Dec 2019 where he says it's clearly a TN panel, even though the viewing angles are surprisingly good.

Regardless, the response time of the panel looks good, not much ghosting as you'd expect from a fast TN panel:

Regarding the 27", it seems there are two different Newsync 27" monitors that externally look identical, but one is 1080p (27F165) and the other 1440p (27Q165). So the Xceed monitor is suppose to be the 1080p one, but I guess it is plausible that some might be 1440p by accident?

@aiccc, you say the 24" panel is SAMSUNG LSM236HP02-G

Nope. I do not have that monitor. Others that have that monitor stated it was that panel.

I created this thread so that people could find the information quickly. I copied it from the other very long thread.

However this thread attracted a few toxic ppl.

It became quite clear that people have different panels in the same casing. Based on the info provided.

But some people that, dont have the monitor, made absolute (cr@p) statements. Mabye they were having a cr@p day.

Or maybe their SO gave someone else @$$ that day instead of them. ;)

I've been through the entire thread. I have not seen any unfair or untrue statements, just comments based on the facts at hand.
