So here is my bit to this ... Yes we have rules to keep the integrity of this site in tact but in this case i feel the rules screw over somebody deserving in this case ... just because he has yet to contribute to the PIF section . @Heinrich_ZA , i am not a web designer or anything but if doing something as small as getting you a domain and helping you try and get a basic site up and running to get your company name out there , i am willing to pay for the domain and webhosting for the next 12months if nothing more comes from this entire thing .. my friend we all face some uphill battles sometimes and I know my contribution might be very small in the bigger scheme of things , Also my wive has a thing for rusks she would be very upset if i don't do my part to get the best rusks out there to the rest of SA and maybe oneday you can also become a house hold name like Ouma Greyvenstein :D

I will buy a logo off fiverr :)

I have decided to submit an entry.

1. Post a reason why you OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW needs this and why it will not go to waste as well as the business you OR THEY want to start or grow :

I worked in mining, specifically shaft sinking, for the past 6 years but got laid off at the end of May this year. With my daughter, Winter, been born only in September of last year I had no choice but to immediately start making plans. So I ended up buying into the family bakery.

So now I'm baking rusks. I made up samples and started taking them to a lot of local businesses from Lambert's Bay to Cape Town along the N7 route and back along the Old West Coast road. Orders have been coming in but it's not nearly enough to pay for everything - especially medical aid. Thing is everyone wants VAT registration and stuff. I've been trying to create a Wix website but struggling and also domain payments and stuff will just add to a already very tight budget. Last night I had the idea of an online shop selling rusks, 3kg boxes at a time with shipping included. Also with an option to "build your own" like add some choc chips ,jelly tots, nuts etc.

We have a lot of plans for the future if the baby steps work out. My father is already making pizza bases, pastry's like pies and croissants - and I'm in the process of learning all of these. Importing and roasting coffee is another. On TV nowadays I see things like the "veldskoen" going international into EU and Australia etc. Why can't my Rusk be the next thing people in Europe indulge?

So I would like to encourage fellow Carbonites to please like my post. Here's a little intro I had planned for the Wix website:

The Road that led to the Whimsical delicacy in your hand, (hopefully in your mouth by now) started in chaos with a lot of difficult decisions made by a Mother, Father and an 8month old named Winter.
We packed up our things and moved back to the West Coast from the very far away town of Musina on the Zimbabwe border -armed with an arsenal of family recipes, a dream but not much of a plan yet…
So we baked. And it tasted good. We changed packaging, labeling, names and faces. Everything but our recipe. And change is constant, but we promise never to change our recipe or quality. We put all our love into every single product, making sure every last detail is of the quality you deserve. We live in a time of mass produce and haste, so sit down. Take your time. Eat with passion and enjoy the moment with a positive thought.
We thank you for your purchase. Keep in touch on our social media, we value your thoughts.
Here’s a picture of our daughter Winter.

Oh and I still don't know how to upload pics here, help me with this venture - baby steps like my daughter into walking and freedom. To infinity and beyond!!!

Nevertheless, People I thank you for your Time. And also, Mr PIF-giver you are a solid person my man,

I'm on board.

Wether the PIF fails or not, I am willing to lend my developer time. Not too creative with templating and CSS, but I'm sure we can put something epic together.

Will wait for the PIF to run its course then we can tackle this if necessary.

Please post your entry. You never know what may come of this.

If I may then why not. I won’t go into all the sob but 2017 I had to place all plans aside due to the death of my father and decided that in 2018 I will go ahead and BAM, I get a call and my mom has cancer, so all plans went down the drain as I opted to help her.

But my plan was to start a smallish IT supplier business, I have an account with Rectron and back then decided that I want to help out small businesses, not the guys making a well-deserved income, but rather the people who do run a business that provides for their daily needs.

How? Simple, most of the people and loads of PC enthusiasts upgrades their PC parts, cases and some even stick the older stuff in a box at the back of their cupboards, so my idea behind this is having the account, is to advertise and sell items at a very reasonable price and or offer those with the old parts, cases and so forth a discount to an extent if they bring their unwanted items in or I collect/ship and use these then to assist these smaller people to build a PC on which they can perform their daily work on.

Now it may sound like I lost my marbles, but I’ve dealt with a number of small businesses (not back yard companies) whom I’ve seen the equipment they use, for instance one business, the guy was using a laptop older than 10 years IMO to do emails, invoicing, orders, banking and so on and I could see he was struggling, not to mention the screen had damage, the keys were shot and the thing was slow as can come. I took an old PC case I had, built a PC, nothing great or excessive with old 19” screen and gave it to him. Loaded MS Office (which I bought on Carb) and damn did this guy facial expression show so much emotion. Thus far, with available finances, I have tried to help small businesses all the way from JHB down to Mosselbay with the assistance of my sister who lives down there.

So that is what I have in mind, to start a small IT retail business to sell equipment and parts to the community and assist those in need.

Also try and liaise with e-waste companies. many times they might get a lot of similar computers. it just makes sense to build up a few to be right and ready.

there are some "office in a box" solutions out there - but have a look at something inexpensive that they rent from you month to month, and you go past there one a week to make sure everything is ok, copy the week's backups, etc. so you earn annuity income for the service, not on the equipment. smaller monthly payments are easily digested, instead of lump sums. if you involve some carbies (or corporates) , you might get someone willing to take a Saturday and teach accountancy, computer literacy, office application (whether ms office or not) etc

To be honest I did not even think about this. I will definitely look into this, thank you.

Rentals will be a great idea as well, this way it is maintained and kept up to date. I like the teaching idea, this will allow those the opportunity to learn and also assist those who own small businesses to use the programs and so forth to their best benefit. Thanks for the idea.

Its not something you are going to get rich off. but something with a known monthly income. many small businesses do not have the capacity for a dedicated it person. the bigger ones can contract one in (there are a few on the group) but the really small business (which need it) cant. the problem with a one man business, is that is the one man is not there, the business is gone, and that one man might not think about backups.

Definitely not something to get rich off but certainly something I am passionate about. True, they do not have the capacity for a dedicated person.

So I'm calling on all carbies to give my entry a like please and allow me an opportunity to the chance of this pif [emoji6]

I reckon I'm gonna give my like to to the guy that wants to start his software training thing. @Suberman

Still very conceptual but I like the idea. And whilst I am not blind to @Heinrich_ZA 's plight he already seems further along, like he'll get the least bit of help from this. Plus he has people willing to step in for the bits he still needs. And he's in the lead anyways.

And the rest are all equally conceptual so there's not much in it, I just happen to like that idea a bit more.

I withdraw as I wouldn't benefit too much rn xD go check out my website peeps I'm up and running xD Reactivetech.co.za!

Goodluck to you all and well done @heinrichza you deserve and need this xD make us all proud and can't wait to dip your rusks in my tea xD

You realize that you don't qualify for PIFs at this stage, right?

Additionally, if you have the funding available to become a fiber provider I don't think you need a free website. LOL.

OK COOL. was worth a shot.

with regards to your statement of having the funding to become a network provider.... correction, i work a 60 hour per week job. seeing this on PIF was an opportunity to give back to the community and create jobs, HENCE a free website would have been great.

LOL

And the winner with 25 likes is Mr Bake yo Rusks! @Heinrich_ZA

@Heinrich_ZA Please PM me your number so that we can get started, please allow 14 days for the entirety of the package to be completed.

Thank you all for your input in making this decision!

@Fleshyy, well done on your site, I wish you all the best of luck with any business going forward! Feel free to inbox me with any questions and to discus if you still want that logo!

@Suberman Sir! I owe you a logo, feel free to PM with ideas.

WebDimensions looks forward to working with you all!
