Star Citizen - spiritual successor to freelancer and wing commander

It looks like the Banu Defender is available in-game in 3.10 for 2.78 million.

It's due sometime in July, it's with the first testing group now.
I think it's going to be at Astro Armada at Area 18.
Lots of ways to make money, you can make roughly 120k/hour doing combat around Hurston. Otherwise you can learn how to mine and sign on as a MOLE crewman. You can do a bunch of delivery missions which makes good money too.

Awesome, will jump online with you sometime, still heaps I don't know about the game.

Invictus Launch Day01 2951
May 22 to June 3
Invictus Launch Week, also commonly known as Fleet Week, is the period between Emancipation Day and Armistice Day that marks the beginning of the new recruitment year for the United Empire of Earth Navy (UEEN).

This year, we gather on May 21st at 4pm UTC / 9am pacific to start the celebrations for Invictus Launch Week and honor those in the Navy and other armed forces for their tireless service.

Join us for Invictus Launch Week 2951 and get a first-hand glimpse of the Navy’s biggest and baddest destroyers, corvettes, and carriers as they make their way through the Stanton system in a fleet that's bigger and better than ever before. You can even tour an in-service Javelin destroyer; as soon as you step on board, you’ll feel the history of this iconic behemoth!

Alongside, we're kicking off a Free Fly event the very next day on May 22nd, which grants free access to download and play Star Citizen for everyone!

I'm LGF on Discord, we've played a few times.

IMO this is the best time to try out the game, it's free for the event and you can rent all the ships in-game for no cost, also playing with seasoned players is the best to help get around bugs and to answer questions that the game does tell/show you.

I would sink so much dough into this game if the FPS was bumped up about 15 or so.
17-25fps in most cities is just unacceptable to me...

And no, I'm not spending R40k on upgrades for my pc in this shitstorm of a market

The problem is that the renderer is mostly single threaded right now. This new one should help with FPS where there are huge numbers of entities.

Also, 15-25 FPS in cities should translate to a comfortable 40 in most other places.

Still meh, dying while mining left a scar in my psyche.
Maybe one day I suppose.
