So I'm looking at the recessed bracket that doesn't require modding.
If it does work I'm ordering a metal one from casemods.
Do you think it will still work?

Casemods or Cablemods?

if Cablemods then it won't work either

you would have to look at the mounting specifically

link to what you want to order?

Excuse my ignorance, but what does it matter what case it is mounted in?

I've mounted plenty GPUs vertical in many different (ATX) cases and never had a problem.

Usually the GPU just hovers over the power supply and the one end goes to the GPU and the other end to the motherboard. [emoji85]

Or am I missing something?

@Porra in some cases the clearance between the PCi slot of the GPU and the PSU shroud isn't enough to accomodate the straight style riser cables.
The enthoo is tight but i have had one of the straight ones in it before with a squeeze.

nothing to do with what case it gets mounted in

it has to do with the orientation of the riser and the vertical mounting bracket

Oooh hectic.. I get it now, sorry guys 🙈

@Random_Sheep those are way different

look at the 3D print carefully.... it has nothing to do with the riser.... it is basically just the mount for the GPU

look at the Cablemod and you will see it includes a "mount" where to the riser gets fastened

this riser is not "90deg" where the socket sits perpendicular to the little PCB

oh and the Cablemod comes with it's own riser, so have a look at how that one is orientated to this one

@Off-The-Chart I see that now.
ClintZA been chatting to me about it.

Will have to get a 90deg and see,

I Know it doesn't have the riser mount but think i'll try it and see what happens.

well it will definitely work with the 3D printed bracket, but you just have to take into account that your GPU will have no horizontal support

this riser will work with that 3D printed bracket so there is that

This is mine that originally doesnt support vertical mount. Did it with the bracket and a 90 Degree riser cable

So I've got the same setup so yes, no actually vertical mounts, just gonna wing it and don't want to have to cut the case up, unless it's an absolutely last resort

btw, sorry for the total derail @Porra

just didn't want someone buying it and having exact same problem and then having to sell again

@Off-The-Chart haha no problem bud. I totally agree. Thanks for taking time to clarify that 😏.. There's plenty of interest it will probably be sold by today 😄
