Sorry for the late reply, I'm not getting notifications. The Alienware has edge lighting while the asus has direct lighting, native contrast on the asus is higher than the dell. When it comes to stand, the asus can rotate to portrait as far as I know the dell can't (again depends on model) asus has a higher swivel but lower tilt than the dell. All n all the Asus is a better choice but the dell isn't a bad monitor. Just comparing apples to apples the Asus edges out the dell.
