I mean, does everyone forget that they did grey importing a couple years ago? Lol.

Um, @Pansyfaust , I know you are taking a lot of slack for your comment, but I have some bad news for you.
If you're taking "Grey Imports" as a consideration into not dealing with a company, the only PC you would be able to own would be an OEM Machine bought directly from a Vendor Website.
I have had the luxury (re. punishment from hell) of working for Vendor, Distributor and Retailer before, and you will not believe how rife it is in SA. There are VERY few IT Resellers/Distributors and Yes, even Vendors, who have not dabbled in an "BULK Special" from dubious sources before. I have seen it over and over in the industry.

I even knew a Very Large Vendor that bought in Server RAM from a "Grey" Broker in the UK a couple of years back, due to official channels not supplying. It's the lay of the land in a country where Grey is Legal, and not a thing can be done about it (Unless that's changed, and I don't know about it).

I don't agree with "Grey/Parallel" importing, but sometimes, after seeing how many hands a product goes through, I sometimes believe that "Authorized Channels" can actually be worse than what goes on in the Grey Market. It's shocking just how many middle men there are sometimes. It shouldn't happen, but it does. A Lot.

I know it happens at other places, and it's perfectly legal to sell grey imports, but it's illegal to sell a grey import without stating it's a grey import....which is what evetech did.

Hi Guys. Would you mind helping me understand something?
I have been considering purchasing a new monitor, specifically the one linked below:

Over the past few days while doing some research on PC monitors, I noticed that the price on the above monitor has changed 3 times over 3 days.
I also happened to notice that it was not marked as a Special, nor was it stated "Out of Stock" to indicate that new stock had arrived.

The price on Friday 25/01/2019, was R10 699.00
The price on Saturday 26/01/2019, was R10 999.00
The price for Today 27/01/2019, is R10 949.00

I have noticed this on other items on your website in the past. It has always been confusing to me and has even hindered me from making purchases.

Would you mind clarifying why the price fluctuates so much?

Probably linked somehow to the suppliers who have it live updating due to changes in currency exchange etc. They will usually honor the price at which you purchased it at provided you paid. If you order on friday and only paid the invoice on monday they might tell you to gtfo.

So @Evetech Support I bought an upgrade kit (EVE237877 ) on January 12th and I got the order and everything but the cpu cooler was missing,
I phoned to report the issue an I was told that the cooler was out of stock when my order was placed so it was shipped without it. After many up and down call's (all made by me as Evetech clearly couldn't care less to inform me of any updates) I was finally offered a replacement cooler I think maybe 2 days later however they offered me a CM Hyper 212 when I was supposed to get a Wraith max (that was the only option they gave me) which I declined as that's just stupid IMO. I was also refused any sort or credit or refund as it's a "Free item in the kit" I was then told the Wraith max would be sent out the following week so I was willing to wait for it.
Anyways after that week again I heard nothing back so I had to ask for an update and I was told on the 29th of January that "We are currently waiting for the items to dispatch from the harbor. We will let you know as soon as we receive it."
It is now another 2 weeks later and I have heard nothing back.

These are my questions:

  1. Why was I not offered a replacement cooler before my order was just shipped without a component that it needed in order to run the rest of the items?
  2. Why was I only given one replacement option when it was Evetechs fault?
  3. Why could I not have been given credit or a refund when it was Evetechs fault?
  4. Why do I not get any form of updates when it was Evetechs fault?
  5. Should I wait until I need to upgrade again in a couple years before getting a cooler?

I'm actually sick and tired of waiting now, it's been a month already for crying out aloud.
Just typing this is actually getting me all worked up again.

I yes, I forgot to mention that when I did call the one time and asked to speak to Barry (I was dealing with him before) I was asked to hold on for a minute, the phone was put on the table and I could hear everything going on including Barry answering another phone call while I was waiting for him, not to mention some other things that I prefer to rather not mention.

I purchased my MK710 logitech keyboard combo from them couple weeks back.

When i went to collect I was amazed at just how busy that place is... it was complete and utter chaos... but it kinda worked...

I waited for about 20min before being helped, i was eventually helped in the waiting area - luckily it was just a collection.

It seems Evetech has something good going otherwise it would not be that busy; either that or i chose the busiest day of the month.

The pricing on their site is weird i will admit, they almost do a takealot and put something on special at R100 off but increase the base price by R100.

Anyway, I'm waffling..

If they are that busy and can't get stuff done then they are obviously understaffed, if they are understaffed there is more than enough capable unemployed people in this country to go around.

I was also told before that they are extremely busy and they can't get back to me. But it's 2 weeks now with no update which is just a joke.

The Dell S2716DG has been advertised on your web page at R8599 for about a month now. I saw yesterday it went on Special at the same price of R8599.
Perhaps mention it to the relevant people that when an item goes on Special, there is usually a reduction in price.

They did something similar to me with the HyperX Alloy Elite keyboard, I saw it on the site for R1699 early Dec 2018. When I went to check out, the price magically changed to R2499.
When I call to inquire the price, they say the correct price is R2499... fine, so I go buy a bundle on Carb because I really wanted a Cherry MX Red keyboard for Xmas.
In the next couple days before my bundle even arrives, Evetech send me their "Lekker daily deals" with the keyboard on special for R1699... WTF!!!
@Evetech Support , you lost a sale but you also lost a customer because you were greedy, I will never support them even if the product I want is R1000 cheaper than Rebel and Woot because to me SERVICE>PRICE
