My 2c experience with Eveballs is; I called their offices to confirm warranty of a product then I get told that I have to email them, they "can't check".... OK. Mail sent.
So I decide to call back 5min later and chose another option and the friendly gent who answered was able to help me immediately with the exact day/month/year (within a minute).
A few hours later I get a one liner mail to confirm it was bought in 20xx, no month, no day - helpful.
Was the first guy and the email guardian just lazy or not amped to talk to a client? There is your cancer Eveballs.
You have a good framework and website with competitive pricing, and frankly I don't care where the goods come from.
Radiate the cancer within your company that is dragging your name down and employ people who have passion for customer service and actually know what they are doing.

Um, @Pansyfaust , I know you are taking a lot of slack for your comment, but I have some bad news for you.
If you're taking "Grey Imports" as a consideration into not dealing with a company, the only PC you would be able to own would be an OEM Machine bought directly from a Vendor Website.
I have had the luxury (re. punishment from hell) of working for Vendor, Distributor and Retailer before, and you will not believe how rife it is in SA. There are VERY few IT Resellers/Distributors and Yes, even Vendors, who have not dabbled in an "BULK Special" from dubious sources before. I have seen it over and over in the industry.

I even knew a Very Large Vendor that bought in Server RAM from a "Grey" Broker in the UK a couple of years back, due to official channels not supplying. It's the lay of the land in a country where Grey is Legal, and not a thing can be done about it (Unless that's changed, and I don't know about it).

I don't agree with "Grey/Parallel" importing, but sometimes, after seeing how many hands a product goes through, I sometimes believe that "Authorized Channels" can actually be worse than what goes on in the Grey Market. It's shocking just how many middle men there are sometimes. It shouldn't happen, but it does. A Lot.

Not quite sure who you worked for bud, but what i can say
Rectron only purchases direct from vendor,
Mustek does the exact same, with the exception of there mercer brand which is mostly Chinese oem and assembled in SA,

Reference - Work as a product manager at Rectron for 6 years.

Your example for the server ram though, if they bought it and honor the warranty locally i see no issue with how they purchased or where they purchased.

Rectron purchases some items from OEM's such as super low cost PSU and SI Chassis, its not considered grey though as they will honor the warranty.

I know several retailers however that bring in grey product, any surface laptop in SA is grey, Microsoft SA does not bring this in, at all.
Which means they do not support it, which means local distirubtors cannot purchase it

@Evetech Support

The Dell S2716DG has been advertised on your web page at R8599 for about a month now. I saw yesterday it went on Special at the same price of R8599.
Perhaps mention it to the relevant people that when an item goes on Special, there is usually a reduction in price.
Exact same issue that I have raised before on a Logitech racing wheel, clearly it's a common practice and the response of "The new stock has increased in price, so it's a special on what the price will be" barely cut it the first time around. Interested to see the next excuse.

So much for @Evetech Support on Carb.

They hardly reply and when they do they ignore all the important queries :D
Evetech will not respond to any queries/issues on this thread. We made a group for them for multiple reasons. So far they responded to all their queries in their group.
