Q - were they Smeg certified techs? I'm asking as you state no warranty, but a factory flaw fixed by (certified) techs would surely have a warranty? My Smeg oven, microwave & coffee machine were bought with an extra 5 year warranty from Smeg.

Yes they were, but since an Insurance claim was made by the customer a day or two after the purchase (that's when the fault was discovered), Smeg, through its reseller concluded it was not suitable to keep warranty of a unit that will be marked "salvageable" by the Insurance company. We run insurance claim assessments for electronic devices and buy off most units that are salvageable and this fridge was one of them.

For the electronics we sell we offer a 30-day warranty (which we feel is too short to mention in our listings). It is only communicated with our customers upon purchase and on the order invoices. However, I have added this detail on this specific listing since you asked (and I suspect others may ask as well).
