Hi all,

Anyone know someone who will install my sound in my car? I am willing to pay but not R 1,000 quoted by all the car sound places.

I have all the cables, sub and amp. I drive a 2016 VW Polo TSi.

Thanks all!

So you expect them to install the sub and amp, then feed the wiring through the entire car, connect it up to your radio. (This can be a miserable job, especially if you do it properly).
Then set it up ect...

R1000 is a good price...

+ What he said. It is a lot of physical work and you pay for expertise as well. Their price is fair. I can also almost guarantee you that anyone doing installs privately won't do as good of a job as the shops will do.

So suck it up and pay the fee;)

I was quoted R800 for my install and I was told that it's a really good deal.

You could do the install yourself but it's a bitch.

Old cars, Easy to do!
New cars, rather send it in. There are many trickks to get panels and shit off... and they will replace if they break something. 1K is a fair price tbh.

Enough said above already ,,,

R1k for an install is a steal. I would do it, but my price would be double that, taking risks and stuff in consideration. Also assuming that the drivers will fit stock spaces.

As cynical as Siltech is, I have to agree. I'll bet the car has a balloon payment.

The only reason why I was quoted R800 is that I'm buying a whole car sound kit with the install from the same guy so he's making profit on the cables and so on. I'm happy with that - I've done so much research to understand that to get decent cables, plugs and materials, you need to be in the trade and willing to buy bulk. You can't buy Dynamat Pro retail unless you buy bulk.

I'll have a pro do all the hard work (liking ripping my dash apart and putting it back together again) and then when I replace my speakers, I'll just make use of the current wiring and pull new wires through where required.

Ok thanks guys.

Looks like I'll be taking it in! :)

There is no balloon payment on the car. ;)

you fit subs in your dash for them to “rip it apart” ?

Lol, nope. Just tweeters and redoing the wiring mess from the previous installer. It’s disgusting.

I’ll try not rip if apart though. Some guys go nuts and install 7” mids all over the front and doors. The doors must weigh a 100kg.

R1k is not bad considering they also must provide you with a line output converter, to be able to connect Sub and amp to stock radio takealot.com

If using an after market radio, then only R1k would be a lot to pay for a install.
