Buyer: @AffectFPS
Seller: @Raptures

Description:
Around 3-4 weeks ago I was in the process of upgrading my PC. I had an ad up for a motherboard. A seller who also happened to have a Carbonite and FB marketplace profile got in touch with me through a WhatsApp group. Looking back at it now I'm glad that I at least found out where else he can be found on.

The seller presented himself to be a pretty good dude and I figured that if he was coming to drop the item off it is unlikely that there would be an issue. Sure enough the motherboard looked normal and under the overcast lighting that day, I decided not to take an up close look at the pin array on the CPU socket. While at my place he for some or other reason boxed my RAM and upon me prompting to reunbox it he apologized for not realizing what he was doing. I brushed it off because I mean wtf... He then moved to install my CPU himself and i simply thanked him because again... Seriously didn't think this was even possible. The motherboard performed normally and has been working somewhat normally and the seller maintained comms for a few days.

The Castle 280RGB AIO I used to own specifies that it is mainly AURA sync compatible and as a result I assumed the reason the top aRGB header was not interacting with the AIO was due to this software incompatibility. Fast forward to a few days ago in discussions with a forum member about taking his AIO, I decided to test the second header on my motherboard with my old AIO and somehow the previous issue disappeared. Before installing my new AIO I decided to remove the CPU to clean it more easily, but also to take a quick peek at the socket (I didn't install the CPU). Sure enough there to seemed to be bent pins, and upon searching up the matter a carbonite post by @tbin47 appeared, to cement the fact that I probably was sold a faulty board. Seeing my new AIO lighting not be responsive when plugged into the second header, but being somewhat normal when plugged into the first pretty much seals it for me.

I decided to reach out anyway because perhaps I am mistaken. Well, it turns out I can't find the seller on FB marketplace anymore, he went quiet on our group despite all his previous interactions regarding enthusiast hardware, and he has yet to reply nearly a day later despite having been online on WhatsApp numerous times.

My guess is he sold the board knowing a few pins were bent, and that the effects were minimal. I left a positive review on both platforms because until seeing both AIOs behave weirdly and eventually removing the CPU on a whim, I likely would never have found out and may have even sold this board on here not knowing it was faulty. Granted having one dead RGB header and perhaps another small issue that I'm yet to be made aware of is not the end of the world, but the fact that the seller banked on me never finding out is kinda messed up. I really didn't know if to make this post or not but I don't want this to happen to another person. With that said admins, I find it very unlikely he will reply and I've accepted that I may have just taken a R4000 L. So yeah...

@Raptures please weigh in here ASAP. This has been sitting here for a while.
A friend of mine who is also a reseller on here PM'd him for info without me asking him to and the response was as to be expected. I didn't take any photos of the socket before the CPU was inserted and for that reason he can maintain plausible deniability. I have nothing to gain from this post but I know that I wasn't the one who damaged the socket as he was the one who placed my CPU into it and I know that the RGB header was dead no more than a day after I received the board. I know this dude is a semi well known reseller around the CPT area so all I was hoping for is that everyone be careful around this dude. Perhaps I was too trusting but this could happen to anyone with any component that may or may not be in fully working condition.

So first of all The Board was 100% on my side

I've been using it with my 240mm Aio and a i9-9900K at 5.2ghz

Rgb working fine I have pictures aswell and videos

I came to your house ,yes I did put Cpu in .
I didn't tell you at all not to check or anything I even told you you can put on the thermal paste when you were doing that who said don't inspect the board it what any normal person would do .. I'm at your house what stopped you from checking ?
You added the thermal paste you could of said let me check ... don't blame me for bent pins cause the board wouldn't of been able to Oc like it did no rgb header was broken or dead , I've sent videos and pictures to your friend showing that it is working ...

I've said about 4 times test the Pc out ..
I even said don't pay me Till you install test everything Out once you happy pay me

you the one who said no it's fine
I didn't even want to leave till you we're happy why I asked you to test Everything ...

Don't come few weeks later then tell me there's Bent pins and stuff is broken on the board I had no such problems at all

I don't reply on platforms like this cause it will just be your word against mine ...

I also am Not going to respond to you cause you should of told me on the same day there's a problem if I didn't bent any pins ,I must now argue with you back and forth and waste my time ?

I sell a lot of pc parts to people You don't want it to happen to anyone else ..

I only sold cause I upgraded to a Z490 otherwise I wouldn't even have sold it

Why would I sell a board on Pc group to people I sell to on regular so say what you want mate I've never sold to anyone that has had a problem except you mate ...
you also insisted on rating on Carbonite I couldn't care less yes ...

But anyway Regards mates enjoy your week ...

@Raptures do you have pictures and videos of the stuff working before you sold/installed it at the buyer's place?

No need. It doesn't seem to be working post install though, and according to him you installed the CPU - after which it didn't work anymore. Any chance you bent the pins when you installed it at his place? Also, why did you start installing stuff at his place?

The videos that were sent to me all showed Corsair and EVGA products installed. None of your videos explicitly showed any RGB Fusion controlled devices. The motherboard RGB in the videos was also stuck on blue, the same color the board arrived configured with. If you had an entirely RGB setup why would you not simply open Fusion to change it. My guess is you never even had Fusion.

The reason it took weeks to inform you was because when I tried the top header for the first time, I assumed it was just some incompatibility as I genuinely had no desire to believe you screwed me over in any capacity. You seemed like a solid person. When I checked the bottom header I was alarmed but not convinced I got scammed or anything like that. As is the reason I didn't even bother contacting you days before I noticed the socket.

Next off, I only asked you for advice applying thermal paste because I have never had a fellow PC enthusiast next to me while building my PC and I figured why not ask because perhaps my application job is garbage. I had no problem building my PC at all, and the one odd thing I found was how insistent you were I do it, yet you were the one who decided to install my CPU - possibly the only truly important part of the entire build.

I can confirm there are no issues performance wise. That was never my argument. The board still technically works albeit the dead header. If the dead header was the only issue I'd have said nothing, but you can't sell someone a board with bent pins just because 'it still works 100%'. Furthermore you don't have any pictures of the board without a CPU installed to show that there were no bent pins.

To cap off. Let's not miss details here. I PM'd you and only you the moment I saw the pins. I didn't PM any of my friends or make any threads. I in fact gave you more than 24 hours before I made this thread. You said Jack. I was also pleasantly greeted to the fact I was blocked by your reseller page on Facebook - something I found very interesting.

My friend and I studied the pin out and thankfully the pins don't correlate to anything important like power output, DRAM or the iGPU. The pins were ground, a vendor configurable pin and a few others. My friend helped me bent 4 that were not badly off back to somewhat decent positions but there was one extremely badly bent pin and one completely broken off. For me to have done that I would literally have had to take my PC apart for no reason, remove my CPU for who knows why, and literally drag it across the socket. Ask yourself this though, why would I target you or make this thread if I literally have nothing to gain? There's only one reason why, and it's because I'm sick of bullies.

Sidenote: Before anyone asks me to screenshot my Facebook, I deleted my account last night because I'm depressed af and I don't want social interaction anymore. I can forward the confirmation email if you desire.

Lol

exactly why I don't do this back a fourth thing

I installEd cause I had a client who bent cpu pins already ..

he could of checked if he had a problem
I have videos picture of all my rgb working ...

So to me I have done nothing wrong ...
anyway feel free to remove me I don't sell a lot of Pc parts on here anyway
If my account is blocked not hard to make knew one ...

besides like I said I wouldn't sell broken kak on what's group where people actually know me

anyway been real ..Enjoy the week
Been a hectic day at work sorry for wait

peace out catch me on Apex if you want
Regards

People like you confuse me. I was nothing but nice to you throughout our deal and you didn't even have the decency to reply to me on WhatsApp that day. My PM wasn't even malicious. Legit just asked for a moment of your time to discuss something. Further than that you blocked me on Facebook because you clearly knew what you had done long before I even did. Then you have the nerve to reply like this. You didn't even try to refute my comment because you know everything I said is true and can't be replied to. I would have been willing to even assume you just sold the board not knowing what was wrong with it, but the way you carry yourself tells me otherwise. Cheers I guess.

OK so three things.

1. @AffectFPS sorry for your loss. He's not coming to the party.
2. @Raptures you are a Class A asshole. I wanted to give you a chance to come clean or help him. Instead you broke his shit and now you're blaming him. Class A. You also admitted to reselling without a sub on here so it confirms my suspicion.
3. You're no longer welcome on Carbonite.

Seeing that this matter is closed - and my post is not affecting anything

Can I just add - @Raptures - it's "could have" and 'should have" not "could of" and "should of" you ignorant, uneducated inbred twat! You have a terrible attitude. It all comes around though.

You're taking about pulling front panel cables out from underneath a few centimeters of motherboard and you think that somehow caused socket pins to bend when there was a CPU and an AIO literally over the socket and I used my fingers to tighten the AIO screws? Eish. Next off the RGB header that isn't working is not the bottom header, it's the header near CPU FAN, there are no bend headers or physically damaged parts of the board aside from the socket anyway. To close off, maybe you're right. Perhaps I should have told you to sit down and wait a few hours while I reconfigure my AIO RGB, test every single header, and every single PCIe slot. Meanwhile remove the cooler and check the socket. I mean it's not like you couldn't sit down on your time for like 2 more hours right? I'm that would have been completely reasonable for me to ask you to do. And it's not like I elected we pull the cables out because they are thin and unlikely to cause damage to a motherboard with a literal solid backplate - because I wanted to save you time.

Doubt he's going to read that but anyway. Just glad this was actually discussed (somewhat) and my points were heard out. Thank you to everyone for any input given and thank you @Toxxyc for taking the time to moderate this 'back and forth' as he said.

How does one even sleep at night - knowing you are scum?

His whole I don't care attitude and lack of moral compass is a tell sign of mental illness...

Pathetic

I'm sorry for what happened...
Funny think is I've seen quite a few Z390 Master board bend pins.. usually people get a bit of thermal paste on it, try and wipe it off, the cloth or tissue they use, catches on the pins and bends them out of shape (I mean this is if you haven't installed your CPU wrongly to start either). You wouldn't really notice it unless you have a light source on it and can see where the pattern is "disturbed"

i want to doxx him.....

I was so happy to see everyone posting,
