The phone had defects and I inquired on them

Seller increases price after making me wait for device due to being in line

Upon inquiring upon said defects and reconsidering purchasing says I am a time waster

What is the decorum, if the seller has not listed all the defects of the device and insults the buyer for reconsidering?

Please use the full template. Otherwise post this in SmackTalk.
Please elaborate on:
"Seller increases price after making me wait for device due to being in line"

I made any and all defects very clear, and provided multiple photos like he requested, without prompting. The buyer offered to pay R200 more than the listed price because there were a number of other people enquiring.

I contacted seller on Friday to purchase phone, he responds on Saturday to say someone has put it on hold until Monday.

Towards the end of Monday I inquire with him and it hasnt been sold, but wants to increase the price because on the thread people offered him R200 more "finders fee".

He then asks me to pay R1600. Of which I initially accept but reconsidered within 15min. He then lowered it to R1500, R100 more than the initial R1400 on the post.

I accept the R1500, because I needed a phone.

On the day I also inquired upon the condition of the phone.

The phone was listed as only having a small dent/nick at the bottom of the phone.

He mentions on whatsapp that there is a yellow band or tinge around the volume buttons when the phone heats up or charges. I ask for screenshots of it. He sends me the screenshots and I decide to not continue with the purchase based on a second opinion of a colleague of mine that has experienced the same defect upon replacing a screen.

I did mention to the seller that I would have to decide whether a screen replacement would be a further option, but he informed me that would not be a good idea. I am not sure why he said that.

He then starts to call me a time waster because I inquired on the condition of the phone and decided not to purchase it, after going through the hassle of waiting and the price increase.

OK so you backed out of the deal. That's fine. It's not a Bad Deal. @nicovlogg did you ask R1,600 for the phone after advertising it for R1,400 because of alternative offers?

I received roughly 10 offers on various platforms within a few hours and realized the price was too low.

The screen yellowing has happened very infrequently and I was unable to replicate it even after a full day of charging. That's not damage, that's what older screens do with heavy use.

This whole charade is because eyenstyn doesnt understand that he is under no obligation to pay the price I ask, and I am under no obligation to deal with someone who sends me almost 70 text messages in the space of one day, sometimes 10 in a row, only to back out of a deal.
