I actually have one but listened to a friends Hel and it was just so much better. Another friend has a Magni/Modi stack and it also sounds great but he suggested that I try get the amp first Magni/Heresy and add the DAC later if I am having trouble finding one. Also suggesting I get the Heresy over the Magni.

I am in no rush so just bumping and waiting as Schiit doesn't deliver to our friendly and organised country .

I got a quote from him for the Hel and it was quite a bit over what I expected, I am in no rush so just gonna keep bumping until something hopefully pops up.

How is the Heresy if I may ask? I have been offered the Magni3+ but I have been told to get the Heresy, also love the colour scheme.

I would suggest getting the Hel if you can, gives you space to upgrade if you so desire and seems to have some good reviews

I am combining it with the Sennheiser GSX 1200 and Audio Technica AG1X. ( seriously good looking combo with the Hersey)

I think this DAC and headphones dont do this amp justice, but i bought it to grow with. compared to the GSX1200, the mangi Hersey adds alot more oomph to mid bass, bass and volume, thou high end tends to be a bit harsh for my liking(most likely dac or headphones thou)

I have a Hell for a while now driving LCD2's and a LCD-GX. I must be honest I was a bit sceptical at first, but the Hell is an absolutely amazing piece of kit. I have never had any issues with the mic as some others reported on the internet. I also got it from Scotts, was a bit overpriced, but its worth it.

The one thing that bugs me about the Schiit Hel is the lack of an output switch/toggle on the front face. When you want to listen to your speakers you have to first remove the headphones. I have a Asus Xonar Essence STX paired with Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 250 Ohm and PIONEER DM40 speakers. The internal sound card has so many features and switching(Xonar switch app) to other outputs with presets is really cool.

Can anyone recommend something similar to the Hel, but with a bloody output switch? Preferably available in SA
