Description of Bad Deal:

Good day I know it is a bad idea to trade with people with no trades on record and if its too good to be true it usualy is. I guess its my own fault for letting it go this far. I just want to make this post so no one will have to deal with him in future.

He sent me copies of his ID and proof of residency (which is probably all fake) which persuaded me to go ahead with the deal. Also he was able to send me an SMS that looked like it was from Dawn Wing (the number it was from also seemed legit) with all the relative details which again persuaded me to go ahead. He was able to phtoshop the waybill and put my details in (looking back it was quite obvious he had done so) so this guy obviously knows what he is doing. I have atached photos of what he had sent to me, so if anyone gets these from a seller they will know its a scam. Unfortunalty i did send money to his cell so im not sure if there is anything i can do about this?

I hope this thread helps some one in the future. From my side a lesson well learnt as a first time user of Carboinite. Hopefuly these scammers are caught and eventually forced out of the site.

Ya looking back it was a big mistake from my side. Very new to all this so it was easy pickings for him

the photoshop on the proof of residence and the waybill is quite obvious. Eish, i'm sorry your first experience had to turn out that way. There's a reason I made it part of the template to have a link to the safe buyers guide. People on the forum are usually quite eager to help newbies.

I'm sorry man but yeah, you guys make it damn easy. In your Wanted ad there's a link to "safe dealing" on here. If you just followed the guide that you actually posted, this would not have happened.

Anyway, get your bank to see if they can reverse the transaction ASAP. Open a case at SAPS with the info you have. Write it off as school fees.

I guess i only have myself to blame.. i was just way too trusting. A very expensive leason learnt. Going forward i will be more vigilant and get help from other people in the forum if need be

Hold on this is the same guy from the other thread from yesterday? Can you guys not confirm the bank details etc?

Please also share his cell number im trying to see if this is the same guy floating around gumtree etc. Pretty much all his details.

That identity document is legit though, checked on home affairs database I have access to... the names, surnames and other information matches... The ID document is NOT fake, This scammer is using someone's legit ID to scam people or is the legit owner of the ID a scammer?

Have a look at the other thread the guy made a deposit to reveal his name, Shaheed Chopdat I think.

A tip to anyone reading this: A good way to verify whether a photo of an ID actually is the person sending it, is to search for them on Facebook/Linked-In etc, and send them a message on that platform asking them to verify who you are dealing with.

The ID is valid because it's stolen. I removed it from here as well.
