Paid for a 1080ti for 4500

Package never arrived, He had sent a fake aramex sms to me to show confirmation of shipping.

After i paid him when he sent me the proof of shipping he then never responded to me again.
So it started when i put an add up https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?members/lonleybrooo.75388/ for the gpus and i naively put my number and email there.
He then emailed me.we started talkinga dn i was quite intrested in the gpu. He sent pictures of the gpu and his location after about 30 minutes.
I than got some information from him and everything looked legit so far.
So he then "went" to aramex and sent me a photo after he was done with giving aramex the card
. he actually had the audacity to send a photo of his daughter puting the parcel in the aramex box and thats when he sent the fake confirmation of shipping from aramex.
It was probably old pictures or something along those lines. I then sent the money while that was happening and then after we spoke he said i must really keep care of this card and everything so he made me want to trust him more.

He spoke alot about trust during our chats and i was really keen on the deal. So i trusted him which was my mistak.
I was also new to carb and buying online so i was naive.

but i hope this can help you guys to not get scammed from this guy
The name he used was Christian Schoeman
Bank was African bank
and the location he gave me was fake

I hate that i got scammed. But i am new and naive so i need to learn now 😪

This is sad and I feel for you, I have also been scammed before. For future reference only work via Carbonite not sms and email and also check member itrader especially if you pay first. If he does not have a good itrader and you have no way to go in person and test the item rather not take it no matter how good the deal sounds. There are also usually members on Carbonite that are willing to help facilitate deals.

I will definitely keeep this inmind for next time

Make a case with the police, get a case number, as you have his details. Would the bank he banks with, not be able to freeze that account?
