how much will it cost to fix?
Unfortunately Samsung repair will charge you around R2k-R3k.

But there are places that do it for around R1200.
If you can get your hands on a freezer that reaches -150 degrees celsius you can replace the glass for a few hundred rand yourself

Yes this will work to. Iv been meaning to do it on my own phone to test it out. My S8 is cracked as well. There is a huge market for broken screen repair.
The glass replacement kit + glue comes to around R200-R300

Dry Ice can work to and its fairly cheap for a small block

Prices has come down considerably. When I insured my S8+ last year, apart from the insured amount ico theft etc, they covered up to 10k for screen repairs

I thought you need heat to melt glue and not cold?

You can do both. Cold is easier. If you get to hot you melt the body of the phone lol

Cold contracts. It's a special adhesive they use on these phones that freeze and contracts and hardens the glue make it easier to pry off without damaging the actual LCD

Thanks for all the info guys, lets hope someone buys it now :)

Yup it has BUT samsung is ripping people off because they have the monopoly on screen repairs. Charging R3k-R4k for a replacement that literally costs them a few hundred bucks.

What happens is you take your cracked screen into samsung and they take your phone and replace your (LED screen + Glass) , this way is quicker and gets back to you fixed quicker.

Then they send your (LED screen + Broken Glass) to a business that has a Cellphone Freezer and they remove the broken glass from the working LED screen. Then they send that working LED screen back to samsung to use on another repair where someone has a broken LED screen.

As far as I know this is how they do those repairs.

Fix LCD - R3949

I don't see a glass only repair price
You should contact them for a quote. They call the glass the lens, a cracked LCD means the LCD is cracked so you need a lens + LCD/Oled panel. They quoted me R1399 to replace just the glass on an S8, since the Oled was fine

Ahh I see, the website is confusing then. R1400 isnt to bad to make sure someone does it right I suppose

To be honest the cracks on this phone are not bad at all! Doesnt look like it even covers the screen. I would just use it as is lol.

@Kn0bsh0t Sorry for derailing your thread.
