Good evening all,

I purchased a Ryzen 3600 and a b450-f asus gaming motherboard from Evetech.

Before making the purchase I asked them to update the bios for me so I could just put in the motherboard and start up!

When starting the system everything turns on and spin and so on, but it wont boot and I do not get any display on the monitor.

On the motherboard the boot led is green. I tried looking for an explanation but could not find one.

Will someone assist please?

Well chances are that they didnt bother to update the bios. Check your motherboard manual to see what the green boot led means. If its a cpu error then they probably didnt update the bios like you requested.

I check the back and saw the display port cable wasn’t plugged in properly.

After plugging it in, the moba turns on and displays. But i can’t enter the bios and the green light stays on.

The manual mention that yellow green is n boot problem

I noticed that the manual states if the CLRTC cap is removed the motherboard won’t boot.

I noticed that i have a 2 pin CLRTC and the is no cap on it. May this cause the issue?

And how do i resolve it?

Okay so if I take out all the drives I can enter the bios.

So the problem is with my drives.

Any ideas how to resolve?

Sounds a bit crazy re it not booting due to a bad drive... You need a little cap to put on the CLRTC .

Grab one from a old mobo that your not using / is dead.

They look like this - 600 Pieces Standard Computer Jumper Caps Header Pin: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

I had a bad SATA power cable for my drives that stopped my PC from posting. Blank screen.

It took me 2 days to figure out what was wrong.

Never underestimate the ability of a simple component to fuck up your system.

I agree 120%. What I'm getting at, is that I HIGHLY doubt the BIOS is programmed to STOP the system booting due to a bad disk.

A bad disk/cable cann def stop the machine booting into the OS. I see OP said "But i can’t enter the bios " this is indicative of a bad drive , sata cable or sata controller.

Plug in just the OS drive and test with other cables.

Or plug in all the drives and boot into a linux distro with a usb just to see.

Remember the bad old days of Molex to SATA connectors catching on fire? Fun times.
