Kit arrived yesterday, toblerone included (thanks Rebeltech - helped appease the wife).
My primary gripe with the previous system was a cpu bottleneck in BF V, so its the direct comparison I am going to use to explain the gains...
Board went together easily, posted first time (no issues with long post that some people seem to be reporting, it booted in what I would consider normal time for an SSD). One click XMP enable got my ram to the advertised 3600mhz with no issues, timings correct also.
WiFi worked immediately, only needed to install chipset and sound drivers and everything was slick. Using the stock cooler, load temps are 81 deg C, which is fine for this chip. (MSI have graciously provided a free CM - ml240l AIO with this board, but I must wait for them to send it...)
BFV average fps went from 65 to 120 at 1440p, gpu working to 88% cpu loaded at 76% (with my somewhat optimized for frame rate settings).
I am really happy, actually had to cap my frame rate to avoid some freesync issues with game fps climbing up to 170+ in some scenarios.
CUD off for now...
