I am looking to liquid cooling my RX580 4GB Aorus GPU. The fans are slowly dying and I thought to adventure on the liquid cooling side of things for once. What I ask is what would be suggested to be the best move forward. I have looked up what coolers to get and the pros and cons, and I have looked up a couple videos on youtube.

Motherboard: MSI H77MA 643
CPU: I7 3770 @ 3.4 GHZ, 4 core, 8 thread
Memory: DDR 3, 8 GB 1600MHz x4
Space: 1x WD GREEN SSD 240GB, 545MB/S Read
&
1x WD BLUE HDD 1T
Graphics: Radion RX580 4GB
PSU: 550W LT-550AL2NCA
DVD-ROM: Standard
Case: Gigabyte

First I'd see from the serial number when you card was produced from the date code or look at your invoice, it could be under three year warranty.

Cost wise I don't think it's worth it to replace the cooler. The card is worth around R1500 roughly and that is about what a quality block alone will cost. So my opinion rather sell as is, and replace with the same or better second hand/new card.

Also what PSU is that? It is worthwhile to get a quality PSU so your parts don't die.

I thank you for your advise and input.
What would you advise the value of the card to be? The issue is when ever it gets too hot it causes me pc to either freeze or randomly shut down so I cannot set the graphics settings of games too high.

Get a NZXT G12 and slap on an AIO liquid cooler - even a 120mm AIO that usually go for cheap on Carb would work just great.
I'd say thats the most cost efficient route.
I also tend to agree that going on the pricing on that card, might just be easier to sell it and get something better. Slapping on a liquid cooler seems more effort and costs than it's worth IMO

Thank you for your reply, you input is appreciated. After a chat with a friend we come to the conclusion that I need to swap out the thermal pads. I see they are being sold for R1500 though understanding my cards situation what would you opinion on its worth be.

I take it your card doesn't have warranty and can't replace fans? If not try and source a fan to replace it with.

Get a G12 and a 120mm Rad, you don't use Thermal pads with a G12, you strip the card naked. You can find thermal pads around for fairly cheap, just make sure you get the correct thickness, then you can cut to size.

Hi there , I would like to revive this thread. I have a 1070 aero (blower style cooler), after oc and under full load in game this card can reach 90 degrees. I do agree that I have a mid size tower with one intake and 1 outtake fan. So cooling is definitely not great.

I've recently been looking at closed loop GPU cooling. I see most people recommend a G12 bracket for the Gpu. I would need a small AIO to fit within my case. Also the coolers that are used are they the same as the Cpu AIO.

What would you guys recommend.

If you just wan tot bring temps down look at getting a AIB card with bigger fans.

otherwise 240 AIO would be a good bet.

I've done some googling around this. It seems that with a G12 bracket and even a 120mm AIO, you can expect a significant drop in temperatures. The cheapest option in SA seems to be the Corsair H55.

Maybe as a first step, try replacing the thermal paste on the GPU. Look for YouTube videos on how to do this for your card. Also try maximise airflow in your case with more fans, if feasible. This would be cheaper than the G12+AIO combo and would improve things for not only your GPU but other components as well.

You can also try import an aftermarket air cooler like an Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo III, but with Covid it may take a while to arrive.
