Greetings all,

So I've been scouting around lately and watching a lot of YouTube videos on the RX 480 8GB GPU vs the RX 580 8GB.

I guess what I really want to know is, what is the main difference between the 2 mentioned cards besides the series and age looking more into the specs.

Also how big of a difference would the 480 have compared to the 580 for Gaming?

Lastly are they worth purchasing new ?

In theory, its the same thing just newer series. You might see a 2-5% increase in FPS if any. Don't buy new, buy mined, they work just as well and will cost a about a fifth of the price :)

Almost every RX480 I had(Red devil, Asus Strix, XFX GTR BE( less so than the others), Nitro+) throttled and never kept constant to it's rated clock speed but on the other hand I had an rx580 Strix and it kept it's clock speeds constant even after an oc. My advice is to Buy the RX480 if it's significantly cheaper but make sure it has a beefy cooler otherwise go RX580 with a good cooler.

If one was to compare an RX 570 but the 4GB version to the RX 480 8GB besides the vRam which would be a better option?
