5. I am still praying for a 6990 dual GPU card using infinity fabric to report as only one gpu (no crossfire issues)

This plus the remembering the old dedicated PhysX cards made me imagine a "What if" scenario

Imagine your RX6990 with two undervolted 6900XT chips appearing as one GPU, paired with a RTX3080 exclusively used for dedicated RT operations and DLSS.

Every game would easily be 4K/60 raytraced with DLSS.

I don't believe those benchmarks at all - it's for views

Check out these videos
1)
2)

1st video he has the i9-10900K doing 140fps in Horizon Zero Dawn.
2nd video it is doing 159fps in the same game.... except in the 1st its supposedly on a RTX3090 and the second on a RTX3080. I call bullshit.

Click-bait - give them what they want to see and I get views and make money

There is no argument here, just thoughts and opinions. You don't really know me at all though. I'm guessing you're one of those dudes who refuses to go against the grain and speak your mind for the sake of being agreeable? Perhaps you are one of those people who prefer it when others lie down for them because they need to feel as though they are the most alpha in the room.

I'm going to extend this to you and everyone else though: everything I say on these forums is just what I think and sometimes what I say ends up being true because I like to keep up with tech channels on YT, as well as reading up on hardware leaks and deducing my own thoughts thereafter. I'm not a genius, I'm not even that intelligent; nor have I ever claimed to be. I use assertive language and I don't back down when I feel like I have a point. With that said, I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as many of the guys on this forum, and I've thus conceded many times to those who have validly questioned my logic on certain things. There you go.

You can think what ever you like of me because in the end it doesn't matter to me and neither should it matter to you what I think of you.
Though I think you've proven my point about you. :)

PS, I expect you to respond as it seems you like having the last word.
Enjoy your weekend, Much love <3 Mwah. #nohomo ;)

I don't really think anything of you as we had never interacted before and I was just confused as to why someone would feel the need to say something like that when it doesn't really serve a purpose. Please know that I don't dislike you or hate you though. I just don't feel like it makes sense to instigate negative social interactions with others because you don't know what the other person is dealing with. I could have not replied to try to prove you wrong but I don't really see a point, I'd rather have this be said.

Not saying you're wrong, but the Description mentions the 10900K is overclocked in the second video.

Umm... a 5Ghz OC on a i9-10900K?.... it does 5.3 stock? How is that an OC?

That's a very interesting observation that the 6800XT is 7.4% slower and 7.4% cheaper. Wonder if that is accidental or by design by either of those 2 corps? Must be accidental as it's an average

I just find it pointless at the randomness of testing results. It is basically believe whoever you want - ie a fanboy choice rather than a factual choice.

Ray tracing will be a predominant feature in most games from here on out, just something to consider with all these comparisons.

Yes more open source RT vs NVIDIA's propriety version.

Many direct quotes from game devs

Yes more open source RT vs NVIDIA's propriety version.

Many direct quotes from game devs

The lack of RT support in certain games (aka Godfall as AMD only at the moment, Cyberpunk as NVIDIA only at launch) are due to dev decisions and resources, not proprietary versions.

The only "proprietary" Raytracing is in Quake II, Wolfenstein Youngblood and JX3 because the official Vulkan Raytracing extension isn't released yet and NVIDIA made their own for the time-being which AMD could've done but didn't have much reason to since their Raytracing capable cards just came out now.

Source : NVIDIA RTX supported games don’t use ‘proprietary’ tech - KitGuru
In a recent interview with AdoredTV, an AMD spokesperson said that it won’t support “games making use of proprietary raytracing APIs and extensions”. This caused a stir and some assumptions that RTX-supported titles are using a proprietary Nvidia API or extension. This is not the case though, as the vast majority of ray-tracing titles use Microsoft’s DirectX Raytracing, itself an extension of DX12, which is open to all platforms.

Speaking with wccftech, Nvidia’s Brian Burke explained that there are just three games on the market that aren’t using Microsoft’s DXR technology – Quake II RTX, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and JX3. These three games use an Nvidia ray-tracing extension for the Vulkan API, simply as a workaround while the official Vulkan Ray Tracing extension is being worked on.

Both Nvidia and AMD GPUs with ray-tracing acceleration will be able to use the current industry standard, which is Microsoft’s DXR. This clarifies previous confusion around Cyberpunk 2077, which was incorrectly claimed to only support ray tracing on Nvidia GPUs, but as it uses DXR, ray tracing will work on AMD’s RX 6000 series cards. Nvidia also claims there is also nothing stopping AMD from creating its own RT-extension for Vulkan while the Khronos Group finalises its official extension for industry-wide use.

Look you make a HUGE deal out of ray tracing support. It makes a big talking point comparing RTX vs RNA2. (a valid one)

approx 14% of games are not supported by AMD.

There are 21 games with RT support

  • Amid Evil
  • Battlefield V
  • Bright Memory
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
  • Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Control
  • Crysis Remastered
  • Deliver Us The Moon
  • Fortnite
  • Ghostrunner
  • Justice
  • Mechwarrior V: Mercenaries
  • Metro Exodus
  • Minecraft
  • Moonlight Blade
  • Pumpkin Jack
  • Quake II RTX
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  • Stay in the Light
  • Watch Dogs Legion
  • Wolfenstein: Youngblood

And RTX is way faster than AMD in these games.

You have a disruptive way of communicating. Just an observation

You come in with short answers, sometimes lacking in grammer. Someone comments "Ray tracing will be a predominant feature in most games from here on out, just something to consider with all these comparisons."

You comment "Yes more open source RT vs NVIDIA's propriety version.", implying the presence of an NVIDIA proprietary of raytracing, and implying it to be the more popular version due to AMD only having RT capability with RDNA2 now.

The fact is that DirectX Raytracing is a common API and not proprietary to either. Both can use it.
Only a very small minority of games with raytracing can only run on NVIDIA cards - some due to dev decisions and resources in a pandemic, some due to the common Vulkan Raytracing extension being still under development and until that is released there is only the NVIDIA Vulkan RT extension.

I did note once that you argue well. You do.

But sometimes when you are feeling attacked, you lose a bit of objectivity. I am trying hard not to jump on the 'kick Nyt ryda' bus.

None of us KNOW for sure where this is going. We are all just guessing.

AND I think this arguing is fun. I could very well be wrong. If I am wrong so be it.

I do not have a dog in this fight.

Regarding my writing. I just do not have time to write long essays. But I try to put references to articles so that others can read them and make an informed choice.

I really do not care if a person buys a Nvidia or AMD product.
