RTX 3090 Insane Local Price

Woot has place holders up, on their website for the RTX 30XX series. No price though, but they are listing the MSI and ASUS cards.

So everyone knows this discussion changed from POSITIVE on launch in day, to NEGATIVE today when prices released in SA.. to POSITIVE again when the true FPS performance is released...and NEGATIVE when Navi 2 is lauched...Its a never ending cycle...

I'm with the guy who offered R10k upfront and collect the card in 2 years...

I was looking through all this. and using the ratios I find the 3080 and especially the 3070 to be off.

We take the 1500 Euro for the 3090, which translates to 40k here. the 3070 is priced at 479 Euro.

That's a ratio of 32% the price of the 3090.

So 32% of the 40k gives us = R12 800. that a far cry off the inflated prices. unless the deal is really good on the 3090. Same conversion would put the 3080 in the 18k range.

So lets see when pricing is true reflection.

Am i just being stupid here or Nvidia's prices not specific to their founders cards? As a base price? Obviously the aftermarket branded and overclocked card will come at an premium. Or am i overlooking something?

Evetech are not advertising the founders editions? But aftermarket? So obviously at a slight premium. I think price to performance vs 2000 series is not too bad actually

Evetech has updated their listings with a banner that reads "PRICE TO BE CONFIRMED". I think they thumb-sucked their current prices. Proves that the "List Prices" they show are just made up.
EVESTEK at there finest. Its like there pricing Department went.... " Mmm let place some random prices with current R vs $ shit and see if anyone notices till launch" The Boss" Holy shit that is a great Idea! 🤑

I'm not a Evetech fanboy, buuuuut that image applies to the majority of businesses... Welcome to capitalism. Where the choice where you buy is in YOUR hands. What companies ask for their products and services is their own prerogative.
Yep, I very much agree that its like this everywhere, more meant to be another jab at them for other scummy practices. Venting helps...

Saw a picture of a listing for MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio on Amazon. Seems to be $760. Which is only $10 more than 2080S version. Should be able to get from Amazon for R16K or so, based on their shipping and import fee rates for the 2080S. Ridiculous considering local listings for the same product are R25K...

It's really hard to get a card from Amazon at launch, I really tried my butt off back with the 1080 Ti launch. Newegg somehow snags most of the US stock, heck even B&H Photo gets more stock than Amazon.

Hoping this time is different though, I import with them regularly so I'm also going through them.
