Hi guys,

I have no clue what I am doing - I thought all routers are more or less equal, (I can spot obvious differences) but how would I go about to see if a router is fibre compatible?
again I have no clue what I'm doing, thats why I ask for advice.

Fibre "ready" usually means it has a WAN port, i.e. can connect to another device supplying ethernet connectivity.

You ISP in this case will usually supply an ONT that will be used to connect to the fibre backbone.

I have a ONT installed against the wall - but i need a new router ( as my ISP is being a d**s about this one)
BTW dont ever deal with accelerit

The ones they supply are usually quite shit. I recently bought a new one:

Reason: I want gigabit ethernet in the house. Still waiting on my new access points.

So if I understand correctly anything with a WAN port will suffice (I moved over to a different ISP - or shall I say I'm in the process of moving over)

I think so, as long as it is not ISP locked.

Insurance just replaced our old router for the office with a new one. Ofc I knew better and opted for this.

It was delivered today and working great. Webafrica gave us a Zyxel... What a piece of crap....

I really like this router and My history with TP-Link has always been great :) (plus it doesnt hurt that this is well priced) - I dont have 2-4 grand to blow on a router :(

You can have my old one for free if it will work with your setup?

Make sure there is WANCARD for maximum fibre usage :sneaky:

well I can use it in the interim while I wait for the ISP to wake up ?
You are welcome to it. Just drop me a PM once / if you have made up your mind.
