So I got round to fitting this last night. Here's some pics.
Get your shit together. You need the smallest socket known to man. 4mm.
Remove what seemed like a hundred of the world's smallest screws and set the stock backplate free.
Remove that silly 2 slot bracket.
Next step is to grab that 4mm socket and remove all of them attaching the stock cooler.
Bingo. Pulling the stock cooler off the PCB is a bit scary. Man up.
Next set of tools. Ear buds, make up things you can steal from your missus and a can of my good friend electronic cleaner.
Stock paste was OK...
Shiny. Don't forget to clean the vrms etc as we want our new thermal pads to stick nicely.
Apply thermal pads with the utmost ocd.
Curse as you have to peel off all the blue backings. I hate this part.
Grab your TIM of choice, this is mine. Do the thing.
Add one sexy block.
Add one slimming bracket.
Grab your back plate and apply more thermal pads.
Attach said back plate.
You have successfully installed your 1080ti block. Have a victory beverage.
