I ended up having to switch back to my Aorus Master because Asus are petty bastards who don't want to give their high-paying customers a feature that will literally take them a few days to implement as they've already done so on their newer models, but regardless, that's not what this is about.

The swap out went totally smooth with regards to pretty much everything including enabling resizable BAR. I saw no issues in game either. Onto when I had to install Fusion to control my board and AIO lighting, the app literally will not even launch irrespective of which version from the last 2 years I use, if I do registry cleans, move certain files from the folder, rename certain files, or basically any other fix you can possibly think of. Honest opinions guys: is there any conceivable way I can fix this without trying to reinstall Windows, or should I just say fuck it and move back to my Asus board with no resize bar?

Give up on it. RGB Fusion is trash and if i want to make it work it requires a fresh install every time just to get the app to open.

Use OPENRGB as an alternative.

I was thinking the same thing. The procedure you have to go through to get the software to interact with MB LEDs and LEDs on your RAM is kinda complicated (perhaps it looks more difficult than it actually is). I'm just not really a software guy.

C:\Program Files (x86)\GIGABYTE\RGBFusion\Phison.dll

I had to delete this file, to fix my problem which was different. But it also makes the app open faster and work " smoother". Give it a shot nothing to lose

That did work for me when I hadn't yet acquired my Maximus Formula and I had my RGB Fusion running flawlessly for like two months, but my app literally will not launch upon today's install attempts - not even for an instant in taskbar. It's as if my install isn't even an actual install. I also did attempt deleting that file, the other lib file, moving the lib folder to desktop, deleting the lib folder, repairing vcredit. Literally nothing helps it.

Makes me scared of buying Gigabyte with all these threads. I just have one strip, hoping everything will be fine.

Don't buy Gigabyte. The sad part is that they sell the best value motherboards as they usually use incredibly high-grade VRM components and their VRM and chipset cooling is usually on point. I also prefer their BIOS over any other vendor. This Aorus Master is an amazing board, but the software is just so bad that it's not even practical to use because you're either stuck on orange, or you'll have to disable lighting. Furthermore, their BIOS updates are incredibly hit or miss. With some BIOS updates, you can see very irregular voltage regulation to the point where you're losing significant numbers on overclocks. Asus has great branding but for the most part - they're selling you an upper mid-tier board with pretty lighting and a cool heatsink for +-R10000. MSI I like but their BIOS is awkward and they often times make extremely bad design choices. Honestly, I don't know. Go with EVGA or Asrock I guess?

I would compare Asus to Apple, but afaik their RMA process isn't that customer-friendly, support is meh, they're slow on BIOS updates, and even when you're paying a premium you're not getting high-grade components.

The board is just bad for RGB... otherwise they work. I have not other issues and had two gigabyte boards. It's just that RGB fusion.

I only ever had one board fail on me ever and that was Asus, and I thought Asus was the best back then.

Is it a hardware or software issue?
I always thought the software was just shit. Haven't tried it out yet

Software for sure. I have decided to head back to my Maximus anyway because I'm getting a ROG cooler tomorrow.

-In programs and features is it showing RGB fusion as an installed application ?
-If you extract the RGB fusion package using 7zip and try to install InstUpd.exe do you get any errors?

Yes it does show up completely normally, no I didn’t get any errors during the install of the lib plug-ins.

Weird ...

Try this as a troubleshooting step :
-Run Cmd as administrator
-Run the command- net user administrator /active:yes
-Sign out of your user account and sign into the administrator account
-Try open RGB fusion

Well I have just gone from an Aorus Intel based board where everything worked like a charm to an Asus AMD based board where the Armoury Crate shit just keeps crashing everytime I try to launch it. The boards are solid, software not so much.

I guess I'm lucky in that regard. Armoury crate was working incredibly well.

Worth a shot.

I got all my rgb working by completely removing Armoury Crate. Installed CM software for the AIO and the rest gets controlled via Corsair Icue. I have two apps but it works. After endless reddit solutions and countless reboots I just threw in the towel on Armoury Crate. Gonna give that OpenRGB a go tomorrow

Well guys, I ended up discovering that my cooler arriving tomorrow will require a ROG board to sync up regardless so I may as well just take the afternoon to get my PC ROG'd out and take the FPS loss on the chin. Testing on COD I could notice a slightly higher average frame rate around what my 3080 could do with DLSS enabled, but there were some dips back down to what my card was doing without SAM enabled. Will just do a run around in a custom game and do a performance log for the sake of it but I think I don't have much choice. Damn I honestly wish I had just gone with Ryzen or Z490. Really wanted a Formula though and the price was way too attractive.

I decided just to give it a shot and it actually worked, thank you.

Awesome , does it work on your main account as well ?

if not then its some sort of elevated permission issue on your main account

No, not when I launch it on it. I have to switch back to my main account after the RGB has changed.

For what it's worth you can try AuraSync, Asus's older RGB software, instead of Armory Crate. It works for me on my X570 TUF. I actually prefer it to using iCUE because it A) has the effect that I want, and iCUE doesn't, for some bizarre reason; and B) when using the Asus plugin in iCUE, it causes iCUE to crash when running games with BattleEye (Siege, Tarkov, etc.).

I also have a X570 TUF and with the crate software I was getting full system hang when gaming. Removed it and the problem was gone. Will try the AuraSync tonight. Thx.

I’m going to be reinstalling armoury crate today. Wish me luck boys.
