Hi There,

My PSU decided to stop working today. I have a fairly old system and I need to replace the PSU

Current Specs:

MOBO: MSI Z87M
GPU: GTX970
CPU: 7900K
1 x 250GB SSD
1 x 1TB HDD
PSU: Corsair AX860
RAM: 8GB Corsair

My idea is to replace entire pc in June, but until then I need something cheap that will keep me going until then.

Any suggestions on a PSU that will fit my current system?

I do not know much about PSUs and connectors, I just know that previously I bought one for my daughter with incorrect connectors, so I need one that will fit the above hardware.

imho

1. buy a good psu to cater for your future build.
2. buy a very cheap psu and hope it does not cause issues. matrix has some wicked specials today.

There is junk on takealot for R499 (free shipping)

Check if your PSU has warranty left, might be lucky with the 7 year warranty.

Else post a wanted advert for a cheap 650-750w PSU.

Or buy one of these from Wootware :
SuperFlower 650w (R1449) : Super Flower SF-650F14MT(BK) Leadex 650W 80 Plus Silver Certified Fully Modular Black Desktop Power Supply - Wootware

Also, what CPU do you have ? I can't find a 7900K, but there's the 7900X and 9700K ?

Like a complete douche, I saw something loose in it, opened it up and it was a Christmas beetle.

only after I closed it again did I think about the warranty ... which is 7 years on that model, and I was in the warranty period :(

Thanx for the suggestion on the wootware one. I'll start making a list of suggested PSU's

your first option was my first thought .... then i realised i am gonna spend close to R6k on a PSU, and i need to save some dollas for x-mas :)

I saw a few ads on carboninte:

will either of those work with the above setup?
