I remember last year some people were up in arms about South African retailers having to do discounts because of an American shopping sensation that "some" local companies adopted and now everyone has to do it ... or some or other rant like that.

My opinion on the matter has always been: If there is an excuse to be had to add the word "Special" or "Sale" on a piece of paper then companies will take it. Black Friday was not forced on them, they relish in the fact that they have one more reason to go "on sale" (like they don't have enough reason to go on sale already. I.e. advertising Christmas and the day before Christmas they start putting up the new year's sale banners to go with new years leaflets were came out the day before... then, before January hits they are already advertising the new sale whether it be Valentines, mothers, fathers, youth, secretary, boss, remembrance, holiday, back to school, summer, winter, fall, spring, back to school again or whatever else...)

This year proves my point perfectly...

For those of you who aren't aware, Makro and Game are having Black Friday all November long, starting 05/11 ... Next week sees the start of the 3 week long Friday!

lol.... Yeah... I really SHOULD be working but when I seea notification I just GOTS to click it :p lolol
Now, if you'll forgive me, I have Game's Christmas sale pamphlet open and I intend to go read it now.

I'll be off now. TTYL
