Im with fnb and when i first got my cc i asked if they had insurance if someone bought shizz on it without me knowing etc. Aunty was like yes you do but you got to phone the call centre. I phoned twice and gave up as they wanted to sell me life insurance and not this cc insurance - my guess it doesnt exist.
Yes, the transactions are backed by Visa or Mastercard - that is your insurance. The banks will try to peddle you life/retrenchment insurance on any outstanding balance if you ask about 'insurance', but those policies are so extremely limited it's not worth even asking about.

Let me tell you my little story regarding shit service:

On the 26th of May 2020 i ordered a set of RAM on special from RARU. The ram just vanished and they told me they would refund me on the 9th of june. Still no money in my account.

On the 6th of May 2020 i bought a mic for my daughter from Soundselect. A week later i received the wrong 1. They did not call me back after numerous calls. Got a mail they would send replacement mic, never received. Asked for refund, they wanted to charge me for their courier. I said no, full refund. Been more than 2 weeks and no refund.

Raru has become bad in the last year or two. Ive heard okes waiting 1 month+ for refunds.i havent seen any threads recently about them but i avoid them now :/

I'm sitting with the same issue at Raru with RAM I ordered. They cancelled half my order and I got the other half after 3 weeks wait.

Finally got a reply yesterday from a mail I sent 12 days ago saying: ' Your refund request was submitted on the 12th of June. Your refund is in the refund queue to be processed soonest. '

Just speak to your bank ... Here is proof of my reversal after paying a retailer ... Just spoke to my banker and next day sorted. This is not very complicated
