Hey everyone,

As the title suggests, I need some reccommendations on widescreen monitors.

Long story short; I am a bit clueless and not up to date with the nicest and latest tech.

My house burned down 2 or something weeks ago - memory fuzzy, so ja.

I need to make lists of things I lost and possible replacements via insurance.

Most of my PC stuff was older tech, but still very much decent, so they can't just issue the same replacements anymore.

On to the actual question:

I don't know what my budget is yet or what I can get that's good within budget, but can anyone reccommend a few decent (new, not secondhand) wide/ultrawide (or whatever) monitors within these price points:

5-6k
6-7k
7-8k

*EDIT* Budget upped to 15k

I am a graphic designer and video editor by trade, but also enjoy gaming, so I'd prefer as big a screen as possible that can cater to work and gaming, with good colors for editing. A decent refresh rate would be awesome too, but not a dealbreaker.

Like I said, I'm clueless with the new stuff, so any help/advice would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Does not have to be only curved screens, updated post.

EDIT 2: Budget upped to 15k

For graphic design work I will avoid curved monitors.
I use the Dell U2717D for DTP and video editing. When I used to game it was perfectly fine for that as well.
Here is the updated model.

Thanks for this, appreciate it.

Makes sense to not actually go curved for work, will update my post accordingly :)

The problem is that thanks to this Corona nonsense you basically won't find anything outside of 7-9K that's any good (except for on here maybe). The minimum for a nice new monitor used to 4K but now it's more like 8K.

Those UM 68s and 79s one used to see for 5-6K are history.

Basically your choices if you want something usable for professional use as well as gaming with a higher refresh rate your choices begin and end at this monitor.

Outside of that your choices drop you to 1080P high refresh rate monitors for a bit less...which wouldn't be so great for professional use and a handful of 60Hz professional and ultrawide displays which are also all around that price or more. And then some curved 144Hz displays which I would not recommend for professional use.

Thank you for this, I appreciate it a lot and will look into it.

I also just got word that I can go higher on budget to 15k, so that opens up a few more possibilities, so I'm excited.

Unfortunately not really. Stock levels are just too crap at the moment.

Yebo... im sure the freesync version is cheaper... and has Gsync compatible modes anyway..
