So I'm reaching 400 hours on PUBG and I see much improvement in my game, but still only have 3 Chicken Dinners Solo and about 12 2nd places. How many hours did it take you to become more than decent in the game?

How decent are you at other shooters? Coming from a comp background, it took about 50hours to get consistent dinners or top 3s. At around 100hours I was playing duos and squads exclusively though.

I guess it would strongly depend on your prior experience and skill in open world style shooters and fps in general.

ps. I have not touched the game since they introduced the desert map months ago. So my experience is form early pubg. Stopped playing at around 400hours because it got very boring. might be worth picking up again at some point.

Just over 70 hours and I don't feel I'm close to being good enough yet. Got my first solo chicken dinner at 56 hours. Not sure how many second and third places I have in solo, but it is a few. Fucked up the chances at another 2 chicken dinners last night :(

The ping really screws us here in SA

Over 500 hours and still shit xD Doesn't help having potato's for squads / duo partners though.. @Ageless_ZA @Veritas

Forces me to work extra hard and pull in miracles like this !

I have 184 hours and I still play like shit. I have only had one solo chicken dinner, 5 in duo and another 4 or 5 in squad. Most of them on Erangel though...I got one dinner in Miramar and 0 in Sanhok. But ja, the ping here fucks us all...A friend of mine jams with a 100Mb/s internet connection and I'm on a 6Mb line and the ping is almost identical...

I had the privilege of playing on a 50Mb/s line while I was on a course in Helsinki. Man was that nice, constant ping of 25ms on Euro servers.

PS: I don't have a lot of FPS experience besides old school CS and COD.

Coming from a self confessed sneaky-snek, hours don't mean jack unless you're playing/training with the intent on improvement. Playing passive too long will always get you in trouble when the time comes for aggression and skill. Put chicken dinner dreams to the side and identify on what is lacking in your play style and focus on improvement.

I found this quite interesting wrt gaming training psychology:

I’m streaming gameplay if you want to come watch me suck :D

I'll have to check when I get home buy I feel I've gotten worse the more I play and the more they patch the game.

The ping and the servers suck, there is no point to try to get good, the servers will always bend you over.

Solo dinners 0
Duo - about 25 to 30
Squad - over 30

Solo i often average around top 10 but i almost exclusively play duo and squad.

My main focus became about racking up kills and aggro, dinners will come in time.

Our squad seems to find, too aggro we loose, to passive and we get outplayed. Balance here seems to be key really.
300hours roughly,1 of my mates is over 1000 hours , this has also become the game we play literally every night.

I find that playing solo has improved my game mainly. Because I do a lot of hot drops and get involved very quickly in fights. Squads sometimes you rely on your friends skill to clear a situation.

Hopefully some of these incoming fixes and changes benefit the ZA PUBG player base...

one that erks me is "We're also planning to take steps to decrease the presence of high-ping players in the matching pools of low-ping players."

I mean fuck high ping players right?
