PS3 Firmware Install

So Replaced my PS3's hard drive cos the old one went poof now I cant seem to find the Firmware Install files.
Anyone have a link to the Firmware Install files ?.

P.s not the firmware update files but the firmware install files you have to use to install on a new hard drive.

I thought you just plug in the drive and the PS just formats it?

Yeah I didn't understand you correctly, but everything I've seen is that a new HDD is just plug, in and the PS3 itself formats it.

But the firmware seems easily accessible here if I'm understanding you correctly

Does the update not include all the files? AFAIK you just copy the update into the "USB drive > PS3 > UPDATE> PS3UPDAT.PUP" and you are good to go...

nope thats the Update file where you update an existing Firmware on the PS3.
I need the File (around 1gig) that installs a fresh version of the firmware on a device

Hi bud,

This is only the case for PS4. The PS3 update file can be used for both updating and fresh install of new HDDs.

In order to install the software the PS3 needs to be done in service mode.
