Should it fall thru, let me know

Hey Vetpiet... Looks like it fell through, but not on my end. The seller just disappeared, stopped replying to messages and saw now this morning blocked me.

Did you pay?
If you did open a bad deal thread. If not leave a negative rating.

Thanks Spaffy! No thank goodness we didn't get that far, he said he was looking at shipping costs and even followed up with me to say he was still waiting and then nothing... Thank goodness also, I learnt from the experience and hope anyone who stumbles upon the thread does too, usually after I ask for banking details (Which I did) in "good will" I pay it ASAP. I usually do check ratings though first and noticed the guy was still new on the forum so probably wouldn't have paid that quick, but still could have ended bad for me.

Would you recommend I still report it as a bad deal even though the deal didn't progress?

If you've made an agreement and then he ghosted you that's reason for a negative rating. Not a bad deal thread though.

Hey guys, hold your horses. I bought this TV from the seller and collected it locally. The seller is perfectly legit. I initially asked him to put me next in line if the dibs fell through. Apparently the deal did not go through according to the seller (presumably because of the explanation by @josephcondon above not having paid), so he went to the NIL who was me. I'm out of town and have not had the opportunity to test the TV yet, but will do so over the weekend and do @Orionn 's itrader then.
However, it's not wise to buy remotely with low iTrader, no matter how good a deal may appear to be. There are some dishonest people out there, although it's not the case in this instance.

Mmm, thanks for the update SAman, but then it didn't "fall through" since I never had the opportunity to pay since the seller just stopped all forms of communication (And I requested banking details well before waiting for delivery details)? At the very least he should have communicated that he sold it to someone else even though I dibs it within the hour of the post and I kept constant communication with him during the process and even tried to PM him on the forums again to find out what was going on.

I can only speculate that the cost and/or effort to ship the item was unacceptable to the seller and the fact that you both have relatively low iTrader scores makes it a risk on either side, so the seller decided that a local deal was preferable. The seller should ideally have let you know that the deal is off though, but that does not make him a scammer.
As I've said earlier, a remote deal with low iTraders is not recommended. Exercise caution as both buyers & sellers have burnt their fingers many times on Carb in the past.

Yes I agree, thanks SAman... After you posted that you received item i guess that excludes him as a scammer, I'll adjust my rating to neutral (Edit: Sorry I see you can't edit ratings)... But at @Orionn: I fully understand maybe the effort to ship wasn't ideal, but being ghosted sucked even after all my correspondence and enthusiasm of trying to get the item this side. Sweet guys have an awesome day and week ahead.
