Basic Idea:
I always liked the Apple G3's handles. I know that the Bitfenix Prodigy now does it, but this project preceded that.
I got this case for free, so it had to get modified.
I drew a lot of inspiration from this thread: MOTM Winner - MacBane - Apple PowerMac G4 Mod
So here it is.

*** Work in progress ***

Have done:
0. Complete redo of case to adapt from Apple to mATX specs.
1. Made PSU mounting with rubber for vibration.
2. HDD mounting on silcone grommets.
3. Basic cutouts for cables and fans.
4. Painting inside.

To-do:
1. Exterior painting.

Parts
Apple G3 case
Intel 2500k
Asrock Z68M-USB3
2x 8gig DDR 1600
Sapphire HD7850 2gb
SS-460FL Power Supply
Corsair Force3 120
Seagate 500 HDD

I know the photos are bad, but better ones on the way showing complete progress.
Just have to get them off the camera.

Always loved the look of the G3's

I once tried to do the mod to one, had the Dual CPU one, mirror door think it was. Got over the mod eventually though, will be nice to see it complete here.

if the outcome of the outer is anything like in the link you posted,

then I am sure this will be an awesome mod.

lol @ Bitfenix Prophecy :)

I love that G4 project mod. Good luck will be keeping track of this one.

I was always planning to do a G5 mod but could never find a cheap G5 chassis locally. They are stupidly expensive to import so I consigned that plan to file 13. I was hoping to do something similar to this: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e476xsrhi6y1zad/e4Zg0LcOhp

Good luck with your mod. I'll keep any eye on this thread...

Firestrm_ZA strangely enough I cannot seem to edit the original post. I thought this sub-forum allowed for updating the posts so I can show end results on top?

Thanks. Too many hours of sanding, bodyfiller, spraying, etc.
Must just clean up the cables, and then I'll post some nice completion pics.

very nice, i'm busy with a 2x G4 quicksilvers hackintosh builds....

RyanW12 Thanks for the comments. Tackleberry. Oooo. Show me pictures!

Looks so much like some of my photos ;)
I body-filled the side handle and reversed the door latch.
How are you doing the back motherboard backplate? I see you are spraying the back plastic, but I could not make that fit with the different ATX vs Apple motherboard sizes. I had to dremel and weld metal reinforcements at the back.
