Just to be clear we have been playing BlackOut on PC but with restrictions. The problem is that we cannot get games on our own. What we have tried is VPN to most European countries and hosting by multiple players on each VPN client and country. None of these options worked. What did work was that we have a mate on Fibre in Cape Town and he hosts with no VPN. When he does we get EU games within 2 minutes. Problem is he played redemption 2 on Xbox most of the weekend. We have another mate in CT on Telkom LTE but he cannot get games. As for the rollout of the 60hz issues I cannot comment but it would seem as if we have no local servers that work or that have setting issues. Multi player works fine and it is obviously not the same servers as BlackOut.
None of this is usefull since we are 9 players with only 3 open slots. We have logged tickets for support and opened forum pages with no repy at all on Activision and Blizzard pages since Thursday last week.

So looks like it's a ping cap issue? He's probably getting 160 to EU? Maybe the cap is 175 or something.

I do think we have dedicated servers for MP, as I have not experienced host migration once. But yes obviously whatever ails the Blackout ones don't affect MP.

I will get some stats tonight from all the guys playing to see what the ping is for the different people. We thought the same originally but some of the JHB guys had lower ping in team. Will confirm however.

I’m on Fibre in Durban, usually with other games on EU servers I get a ping of about 160. I’m not able to find any blackout games at all.

The complete lack of acknowledgement that there IS an issue is what bugs me. If someone at Treyarch / Activision just said "Ok there's an issue, we don't know what but we're looking into it" I'd be happy to wait. But it's like we don't exist.

Maybe the amount of sales for africa vs the salaries they would have to pay people to fix it don't work out

It's us and South America and they haven't acknowledged either other than this over a week ago:

In that post they were referring to low player count lobbies that take forever to fill up. They were looking at ways of combining regions to increase player pools. That was when the servers were actually working though. We can't even find lobbies now. Used to be if it searched too long, I'd eventually end up in a 3-4 player lobby which may or may not fill up. I haven't seen the inside of a Blackout lobby since the 23rd.

They launched the game here, at the very least maintain the damn servers.

Can you solo queue for EU or do you have to be in a party with EU people?

Al games have been in duos with my brother who is liing in Sweeden, he must be the party leader or no luck

A new patch update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, version 1.04, is now live on PS4 and Xbox One. The file size on PS4 is 11GB, and Xbox One is around 12GB.

It added Gun Game which has always been one of my favourite modes in any game.

They were a bit slow tonight, mainly because not everyone is aware that the lobbies are back up and running. Hopefully after the update, people will start joining in again, filling the lobbies up nicely.

Last night was a breeze. Found normal MP games in less than a minute every time. Played a cheeky blackout game, lobby filled in less than 5 mins.

Perhaps there is something wrong with the ISPs? We had an issue originally that the game would just sit checking files. Switched to the 3G and all of a sudden there was a small in-game download that appeared and it worked. Chatted to our ISP guy and he was perplexed. He went to investigate and actually managed to solve that issue for us. Since then, we find local servers no problem with minimal wait time. No idea what he did though as I had tried port forwarding etc to no avail.

Refunded the game like 2 days ago due to this server issue so someone please just confirm for me that the Blackout game mode actually works now and whether its even playable with the higher ping. I don't think they'd refund it twice and I'd hate to lose out on the cash

Tonights update will tell us if it is working properly again. Got 3 BO games locally last night. Waited for ever between games though.

I think the biggest problem is the player base that exists this side and the number of those who actually bought the game.

As I said in a previous post, I can never find S&D or in fact anything besides TDM Moshpit. And now that BO have a 50player cap, that's almost 5 concurrent TDM games.


That being said, hopefully there will be in increase in uptake towards the end of the year which will mean that there will be more game modes active.

Say what? AFAIK Quads have an 88 player limit, and Duos / Solos have a 100 player cap.

Has anyone here at all been able to play even one match of blackout on blops 4?

ive had the game now since day 1, does not let me into a server at all. or says server at capacity.

so another super expensive game that i cant play. quake champions same story. Battlefront II same story. Last two good fps games was BF3 and BF4

any ideas?

I wonder if/when we'll get the 60hz bump.

Presumably the server hardware has to be able to handle it, and our servers can barely stay online..
