Hello guys, we have a possible scammer on our hands. I am on the hunt for a new powersupply and found some threads on carb with guys selling some. I responded and asked if they were still available.
I then get a PM from [MENTION=43234]jacosmit[/MENTION] PROFILE: http://carbonite.co.za/member.php?43234-jacosmit saying that he saw I was looking for a power supply. I responded and gave him my number and we started talking on whatsapp. All was well and he sent me pics of the psu aswell as his ID and driver license which I thought was a bit strange as I did not ask him to send it. He then also requested I pay him via cash send as we were not at the same banks. He sent me voice notes and we even exchanged some jokes, probably to gain some trust. My brother in law went to Welkom for work purposes which I thought was great as he could pick it up for me. He got to the adress he sent me and found out that he did not live there but instead found that part of Welkom to not be very friendly if you get what I am saying.
I have never dealt with a scammer before so I didnt know what to look for and I am still new to Carb so I did not think to check itrader ratings or any of that. I did google the pics he sent me and couldnt find anything related to those. Please be wary of this guy. He is not responding on whatsapp and when I try to call his phone is off. He is also advertising a phone on here http://carbonite.co.za/showthread.php?174805-LG-White-G6-64GB-Dual-Sim-32GB-Micro-SD so rather stay away from that.
If he responds on here, great, if not, we know he is a scammer. Unfortunately I already paid him R700 which I will probably never see again.
