Well considering I have JUST started my build, I figured I may as well get the ball rolling on a thread :)

There isnt much happening here as far as modding goes (when compared to some others) but I still feel its enough to justify a thread under 'Project Logs'

The idea is pretty simple; Incorporate some Stainless Steel into the build as well as the oldschool Pioneer Electronics Logo - lighting and sleeving is still being decided on so I wont go into any detail yet.

For now, here is a breakdown of the kit involved (as per my other posts under PC Modding):

The rig is being built as a bit more of a 'casual gaming' rig for my lounge; something to use with Steam Big Picture Mode and a 360 controller.

Intel i7 3770k CPU
Cooler Master Hyper 412S CPU Cooler
Bitfenix Prodigy Case (White)
Seasonic Platinum 520W Fanless Modular PSU
ASRock Z77E-ITX Mini-ITX Motherboard
EVGA GTX 670 FTW Signature 2 Edition
16GB 1600Mhz Corsair Low Profile Ram (2x 8GB)
OCZ Vector 256GB SSD
Bitfenix Recon Fan Controller
Bitfenix Spectre White 200mm Fan
Sony BDX-S500U External BluRay Writer
Logitech MX5500 Wireless Mouse/Keyboard
...and a good amount of Sleeving from MDPC to get it looking good!

A few pics of the kit - sorry for the quality...pics were all taken on my phone:

man, every time I read that "casual gaming" and I look at the components, I wish I could throw you through my screen, with my screen :D

:p

some epic hardware you got there, and as I have plans of my own on the feet, would love to see your idea.

you got an IM system you use?

Haha, I guess its 'casual' compared to my MONSTER gaming rig I just sold :D

You can always add me on Steam Friends: ReT_

Haha, I actually DID see your rig, but believe it or not I had read a lot of worklogs out there a while back already where a few guys had done it when having to use a fan controller :p. As for the stainless steel feet - Im going to be making this myself at work so its a little hard to say what the total cost would be...its a bit of a side project considering the workshop is fairly quiet at the moment. I can give you a price on Stainless Steel per kg if you like though? :p I would normally suggest using SS304 just from a price point of view, but I have a nice little Stainless 316 offcut plate lying around that I plan to put to good use :) The logo in the front is also going to be SS316 but that will be laser cut.

Forget the PC, I want your ///M ;)
Haha...that old thing? ;P I just recently did the ECU remap through BMW. The car is currently pushing out 267kW and 520Nm now, so its going GREAT! Next is the Akrapovic Pipe (when they finally bring the thing out) or BMW M Performance one, depending on price :D

Well depending on the outcome, I might want some as well, Please keep some sort of record of your time and materials and let me know how much you would charge me for a pair.
Unfortunately this sort of thing is not 'in our line of work' so to speak - The workshop is just very quiet right now so I can afford to sneak in some time there :p
We do fabrication and erection work for the mining industry...so it would almost NEVER be a viable option to do this for a 'client'. To give you an example, I built my own outdoor couches a year ago (obviously just the steel frames) and that was with 350WA Mild Steel. If you took our rate/hour for labour alone (excluding material) I would have paid in the region of R8000/couch, before fabric, before foam etc etc. If I had to guess, the legs for the Prodigy (using SS316L) would probably work out to be around R2000+. Ill still try to keep a record though to clarify once they done :)

Akrapovic Zorsts... the sound angels make when they die :p
Post a thread on your car :D

Very nice parts list and ideas there bud! Can't wait to see the progress!
