The Pay It Forward section is open to all Carbonite members who have not been banned from the section. It is built on the goodwill of the Carbonite members. Because of this, any abuse of this section will lead to a ban from Carbonite, coupled with a permanent ban from using this section in the future. This is not negotiable, and we will nail down hard on transgressors. The rules to the Pay It Forward section is simple:
- If you take something from the Pay It Forward section, you MUST create a new thread also offering something else to give away within 5 days.
- You can place new threads at any time, without the need for taking something first.
- You are allowed to bump your threads daily.
- Items placed here are strictly free. You are not required to pay for shipping though, if you would so wish, and you can request that the taker pay for shipping.
- You must use the template listed below for these PIF threads.
- No Feedback Ratings may be given to these PIF deals.
- No Bad Deals may be opened for these PIF deals.
- You should use the "PIF" prefix for all new threads posted here.
- Deals should be concluded in the thread for all to see - only send personal information via PM.
- The creator of the PIF thread should indicate a line or a list of people interested, as well as who eventually gets the PIF item in the end.
- Selling items taken from here is STRICTLY forbidden.
- You cannot "bank" PIF allowances. That means that you can't give 10 things away now and pick off things to take in the future.
- You won't be allowed to PIF something that everyone can get for free in response to a PIF you received. For example, if Humble Bundle gives away free game keys, that key won't be accepted for a PIF in response to something you received. No exceptions.
- No PIFs will be given to people with an Feedback score lower than 3. So, in order to participate in PIF, you need an Feedback score of at least 3. You can put up something for PIF with a lower Feedback Score though, that is allowed. UPDATE: This limit expires for PIFs older than a month. If there's no interest in the item after a month, 0-rating members can take the item. The other rules still apply.
- Due to people complaining about this all the time, we will now demand that people call dibs on the threads if they want to take an item. It's still up to the guy who posted the PIF to give it to whoever he wants though.
- "TBA" PIFs are not allowed, whatever they are.
- You can "dibs" one PIF at a time. When you have taken that PIF, you must first put up and deliver your PIF before you can take another. In other words, if your response-PIF has not been taken by anyone yet, you are not allowed to call dibs on the next PIF. This will give everyone a fair chance.
- From now on, if members are unhappy with your PIF because it's a useless item or a "dick move", we will investigate and if we find you did something like take a R2k GPU and put up a shitty broken hard drive, you will be required to put up something else. In other words, PIF something of "equal or similar value".
