Hey guys. I hope you are all well.
My pc randomly crashes to a blue screen quite frequently, with error codes such as "unexpected kernel mode trap", "paged fault in non paged area" and a few others.

Things I have tried
-uninstall and clean reinstall of Nvidia driver
-ran a windows memory diagnostic
-ran a hardware diagnostic
-updates windows 10
-updated mobo bios and disabled xmp
-a few checks and scans in command prompt
-disabled fast start up
-windows troubleshoot

I don't have any hardware I can replace to check and single out faults. I'm running out of ideas and any help would be greatly appreciated.

System specs
I9 9900k
As rock z390 extreme 4
16gb gskilz 3200mhz RAM
Corsair hxi 1200
CoolerMaster 360mm AIO
MSI 1060 6gb gaming x
Hik vision 1tb nvme SSD
Crucial 500gb SSD
Transcend 500gb SSD
Western digital 1tb HDD
Windows 10

I think it might be the memory. I just have 8 gigs in the dimm slot at the moment. No crashes in 2 hours. Going to try the other 8 gigs independently as soon as the power is back

Sounds like a memory fault. Either on the board (try a different slot) or the dimm itself.
Not overclocked?

Hi

A event log code would be more helpful with troubleshooting. Did you change anything on the pc recently?.

Is the mem/pc overclocked?

So in the old days this "paged fault in non paged area" error indicated a memory error. This does not imply that your main memory (ram stick) is faulty. It is just a starting point for troubleshooting.

Post errors codes from event log.

My cpu is overclocked.
I've noticed it crashes when I increase my mem speed from the default 2133 in the bios. So not sure if it's the mobo or the Ram. It hasn't crashed on the default speed yet. I'm going to try different dimm slot and see if that makes a difference

Cpu is overclocked yes.
Memory is overclocked too. I've noticed it doesn't crash when running one stick at a time at the default 2133 speed in the bios. Even upping it to 2400 it crashes so not sure if it's the mobo or ram at this stage. Going to swap around the memory in the dimm slots and see if I can get it to run stable at 3200mhz

And all my hardware hasn't changed in the past few months, just a new keyboard a few days ago

I've had a set of GSkill before, whenever it was running above 2133 I would get random crashes or system failures of the weirdest kind. Someone used the ram before and after me with zero issues. Replaced with other ram that wasn't officially on the mobo support list, zero issues to this day.

with the same mobo as me?

been playing with the other 8 gigs in the same dimm slot @
3200mhz for 40mins and no crashes so far. will keep testing

Okay so no crashes since last night on the second RAM module, in the same dimm slot. Speed is 3200mhz. It can only be a faulty module right?

You know the module that works, so try the other module and see if that one gives issues? (use the same dimm)

I can't even play for 10 minutes on the other one with any speed above default. All my friends are on console so don't have anyone close by, to check the module in their system

Could be the slots, or IMC (this is in the Intel CPU if I recall).

Run Memtest86 from a bootable USB for 24hrs with the suspect module. It should tell you if there is an error.

If it was the cpu or board then surely it would crash with both modules? I will run memtest tonight

Sorry I should've elaborated.

When you said "It can only be a faulty module right?" , my reply was in the context of what else *could* be causing it. CPU's are far more complex than any of us would even understand, that said I try and not assume X is the issue until done a solid h/w troubleshooting diagnostics.

Install BlueScreenView, & post a pic of all the BSOD's it lists.
