Hallo

I want to do make a couple of videos from an Overhead perspective. What can I use to mount the camera (a.k.a cell phone) to get a good stable shot?

Depends on you budget etc.

1) If you have a tripod check if it's center column is reversible.
2) You could buy an extension arm if you have a tripod.

3) If you don't mind a single use item that is stuck on your desk: takealot.com or similar things on bidorbuy.

4) No money, but have an old school armed table lamp? MacGyver it with duct tape

Buy a cheap selfie stick. Diy it..or unscrew the holder from a selfie stick, it fits on a tripod.
