Further Info:

The unit is missing the remote control and calibration mic. We moved house at some point and found out months later that a box or two never reached the destination. Never had a need for the calibration mic - preferred manual and custom calibration anyway. Never really got around to ordering a new remote. Used a Logitech Remote for a bit. Worked well.

New remotes can be ordered online from :

Unit plays flawlessly and is quite feature rich.

Pooling funds for it's bigger brother for Dolby Atmos which is going to involve a lot of pooling

This is a helluva nice AVR, especially at this price!!!
Also, just a FYI....You can download the Onkyo Remoto on your phone or tablet ;)

GLWS! and good luck with buying that Atmos AVR! As a matter of interest, which one? And what speaker setup?

The one I'm aiming for

Have to upgrade speakers next - current Jamos might go on sale after this is sold and after getting the new AVR and testing the current speakers on it.

FKN hell...this (new) thing has a ridiculous set of features!!!
Are you going to use it in Atmos mode which will mean many speakers and drilling? 🙈 This rabbit hole could potentially go very deep!
I went down that hole at one stage, now....Yamaha Atmos AVR...running 2 big PSB Alpha speakers and a center....it was just getting too much. But huge amounts of fun though! Not so much for the neighbors

Anyways, went off the rails again....good luck and enjoy!

Yes, it will be used mostly in ATMOS mode. Filling up a 10TB drive with ATMOS movies . Amazing how little of these movies one gets on a 10TB these days
Yeah - the wire runs are going to be interesting, mostly because I hate seeing wires. So drilling is probably going to extend to chasing into walls.

I don't know your setup, but you could put up dry wall in front of your current wall(s) to run the cabling behind...That will save you the stress from all the dust during chasing in wall! You could also then sink your speakers to be flush mounted which in my opinion looks absolutely amazing!

Another option is to run the cabling alongside mood lighting strips (with a dimmer)

Brilliant ideas - I've chased before for my wall mounted tv and it was a nightmare - got it down to an art from previous experience though - trick is to keep wetting the area But yeah - it's a nightmare of a task

Love the flush mount speaker look idea - so much effort for that though

Still available?

Please PM me if it is available

Not too much effort, setting up a dry wall is actually rather quick if you have someone who know what they are doing! Look into it....you will love the finished project!!!
