Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend a reputable Chinese smartphone retailer? I’m looking to purchase a OnePlus 15 from China, but I’m unsure whether to go through AliExpress, TradingShenzhen, or another trusted seller.

Ideally, I’m looking for a seller that offers fast shipping options and handles customs clearance smoothly.

Thanks in advance.

Just use Aliexpress with DHL/FedEx/UPS express shipping and it'll be at your door within 1-2 weeks.

Giztop is pretty awesome , Communication is Great and they use DHL

I've found Giztop VERY expensive when compared to Sunsky (although I am not sure if they stock OnePlus but it may be worth a look). Sunsky use DHL as well, just verify before you buy if a global ROM is flashed onto the phone or not.

Hey @Killar01 , If you get the OnePlus 15 and it's flashed with oxygen os, Please let me know if you can receive ota updates, Thanks, All the best

Thanks , I went with your suggestion of Giztop since they were cheaper than Sunsky. Will let you know once it arrives.

Okay , got the phone and managed to perform updates without issue.
Hi Killar01 and everyone else!
I also wish to purchase this device.
May you please answer some questions.

Ideally, I would like to order from TradingShenzen.
Unfortunately, they do not deliver to South Africa.

Hence, my options are between Geekwills and Giztop.

Anyways, here are some questions that I have:

1. It is slightly cheaper on Geekwills compared to Giztop, are there any drawbacks or reasons not to order from Geekwills? Which is generally better? (Anyone can answer)
2. What configuration do you have? (12gb/256gb - etc)
3. What were your shipping/VAT/custom fees like? The reason I ask is because I haven't imported a phone before.
4. I see Giztop offers $5.99 shipping insurance. Did you include that in your order?
5. As far as I know, only the lack of ESIM and widevine at L3 are different compared to the global retail model, are there any issues that you've personally noticed from your device that originally had the Chinese ROM and was flashed to Oxygen OS?

Thank you!

I've used giztop multiple times now, I was tempted to use Geekwills because I watch gizmochina and it's express delivery fee is 30 dollars compared to Giztop 60 dollars.

Giztop is having a Christmas sale, Chinese models Don't have the hardware for esims, Giztop undervalues the item, Normally between 700 to 1200. I was thinking of buying the OnePlus 15 but I'm hesitant because the OnePlus 13 has larger sensors

Thanks for the information!

Considering Giztop's christmas sale, the 12/256 and 12/512 are better value compared to Geekwills. Geekwills is more than R700 cheaper than Giztop for the 1TB

You should watch this to help your decision:

eSIM capability isn't really a problem when you can just buy an eSIM adaptor from 9eSIM. Had mine for a while now and it is working perfectly.

Thanks bud, The sandstorm version is so beautiful but it has a fibreglass back but the black one has a glass back. I think the glass back is more durable. I'm also leaning towards saving up for the oppo find x9 pro. I wish we could flash a global rom on the oppo.

If you can wait until end of Jan, I'll have two brand new Oneplus 15 Globals, one Sandstorm, one Black 512gb, for 17500 each

Can also get a 256gb Global unit, will sell for 16k

Not without a Reseller sub, it won't. Consider this your final warning.

My apologies, I'm not trying to resell at profits here, just trying to help members out and source phones for them that aren't available here in SA, whilst on my travels🙏

But I understand, and don't want to create a grey area, and been on here for nearly two decades, so would prefer you didn't kick me out.

Great. You're selling way more than a personal user, so you'll need a Reseller sub to sell phones in the future on here.

Can anyone who has actually used the OnePlus 15 that has been flashed to Global Oxygen OS from chinese colorOS confirm that it works with SA networks like MTN - etc?

Thanks

Both Chinese and Global ROMs work with MTN, Telkom and Vodacom, those are the ones I've tested and work, both 4G+ and 5G works great

I want to purchase a OnePlus 15

On Geekwills, the 12/256 variant is $648.94 | R11 068
On Giztop, the 12/256 variant is $679.43 | R11 588

Kindly refer to this

Are there any downsides of ordering from Geekwills compared to Giztop?

Used both of them in the past - Geekwills is more responsive, better English and faster shipping.
Add roughly 30-35% to the converted price you calculated, that would be VAT, customs and ROD fees - then you'll get your true price.

What are the fees like for Giztop?

What are the fees like for Giztop?
Roughly USD50 for shipping to SA
Then add 30-35% on sales price excl shipping when it enters SA (to be charged by Fedex or DHL on behalf of SARS)

In that case geekwills sound like the much better way to go right?
You can't get around the customs unfortunately unless you send someone to China/Hong Kong or you buy second hand from someone there.

If you declare lower, it's illegal, and Sars WILL catch you, I've seen it happen.

So either Geekwills or Giztop, the CN Rom version of the phone through importing is going to cost you minimum ZAR16k

Camera is good , everything works fine , updated to the latest version of oxygen OS no issue.

I also purchase the Protective Magnetic Sandstone Bumper Case with my order , really nice and grippy compared to the soft plastic case they provide you with.
