Hey Carboniteers,

Another of my sister's old laptops. This one she upgraded from about a year ago for something faster. She's running Windows 8 and works fine. Issues are:
  • 2 F keys missing on keyboard (these buttons still work). See pic below
  • Right monitor hinge broke a while back. The plastic mounting that the nut sat in seems to be gone. This also caused wearing of a wire going through that hinge. I've since insulated the wire with some tape and placed it back in a safe place. I'm not quite sure what component this cable was linked to, its some module above the screen and to the right of the webcam. As far as I can see everything is working fine, including the Webcam and Wifi. I've switched the one remaining screw to one of the other nuts that were still in tact. The laptop lid is hinging fine now, but I don't know how long it will hold. You can see pic below of the uncovered hinge and insulated wire before I fixed it up.
  • Battery is way past its expiry and the laptop dies as soon as you unplug it. Good news is its a replaceable battery.
Pics as promised:

Keyboard with missing keys

Right hinge that's a bit buggered

0 minutes. As soon as you unplug the laptop it dies.

Seems like Aramex is still shipping. But as said above, shipping is on you.
