FYI

So I have 3 of these. They used to be teacher's laptops from a Christian school, they all still have that data etc on. the problem is that they are all victims of the same Acer Aspire Faulty hinge issue. you can google it.
acer aspire faulty hinge issue - Google Search
There are actually some creative ways to fix the hinges on youtube, but I don't have the time for that.
Although they all work, I would much rather sell them for someone to use as parts or to strip. they have ram, 500gb hdd's in each of them etc, screens should all be ok. So basically 3 x 15inch screen, and 3x 500gb HDDs alone should be worth what I am asking.
I was using one as a plex server for about a year, so I know they work. its just the damn faulty hinge mechanism that literally tears the hinge off the chassis of the laptop and renders it pretty much useless as a laptop/mobile device. but they would work well as a plex server, or as "desktop" use without having to keep opening and closing the lid. my kid used one for a while as well. no issues. I'll check them again if they switch on etc as they have been in the garage for a while.

I also notice that some guys are using old laptop batteries for some mini projects, create power banks and other small projects. so that's the best use of this kit.
One is actually in very good nick. maybe some glue and you have a working i3 laptop.

Come get it guys.
