About R2250 - including shipping + tax

TBH I just need something that can handle a bit more bass than the HD 200 pro's

Will it have the clarity of the hd 200 pro? I really do like the Sennies I have but it tanks out on bass as soon as I push the volume...alcohol level dependent😇

In terms of launch price HD200 was 90$ and Fidelio X2 was 350$.
Can't compare Mid-fi to low end.
I don't want to over hype it and say it will have more clarity, details etc but let me put it this way:
Some people prefer the X2 over the HD6XX and you don't need a ridiculously expensive dac/amp to power it.

DAC and amp is not an issue... NuPrime uDSD DAC...Yamaha AS-501 amp... using Yamaha's Headphone out

Budget R3k for headphones...go...

Currently have Sennheiser HD 200 pro

Looking at
Audio Technica ATH-M40X Professional Monitor Headphones

Sennheiser HD 280 PRO Headphones

Sennheiser HD 300 PRO Closed Dynamic Around-Ear Reference Headphone - Black

HD 650/6xx out of my league for a while but would love to own it sometime this year

I presume you are not interested in wireless?

If that was your EQ curve you posted earlier, with +12 dB in the highs and -3 dB for 30hz then yeah, I bet it tanks on bass when you push them. Or am I mis-interpretting your EQ image?

Could be that you aren't so much looking for headphones that have large amounts of bass so much as ones that have good enough highs that you don't need to EQ them up which ends up sucking out the low end.

Finally got the Blon BL-03s! Two post offices later and some persistance paid off. Was at the first post office all along, guess they just misplaced it, I insisted they look for it and that the tracking says it was there, even had the branch manager looking for it and low and behold, not long after I received a phone call saying he found it!

Glad I took the effort to get them to find it, I'm really impressed with these little guys. They are very noticeably different to the Tin T4s and they seem to complement each other nicely. Lots of reviews out there so won't repeat what they say already but I will compare the two.

The T4s are definitely more detailed, higher highs, and very clean. The BL-03s punch in the low end, bass and lower mid-range is fuller and the highs are rolled off which results in a more laid back sound with punchier bass. They gave Nina Simone's voice some real weight.

If the T4s are Miles Davis the BL-03s are Charles Mingus.
(For those note familar, Miles was a jazz Trumpet player, Charles was a jazz double-bass player). Interestingly enough though I really enjoyed listening to Miles Davis - Sketches of Spain on the BL-03s because the rolled off highs and the higher bass emphasis meant that 1) No fatigue, and that trumpet hitting the high highs can defnitiely fatigue you and 2) I heard more of the rest of the band, it's like let's take Miles a little further back and let's bring the rest of the guys a little forward.

Headphones like these 2 definitely highlight why it is really nice to have more than one pair of headphones. The Sony's are great neutral all rounders and I can throw them in a bag and not worry but for real listening I have the Tins and the Blons and I can't wait to hear more of some of my albums on the Blon's because thus far my earphones have had fairly similar sound signatures.

Even when I leave EQ totally flat the lows still tanks on higher volumes forcing me to dial down lows

Ah, sorry then @Nikkel, seems like an upgrade is in order then.

So, anyone else falling in love with decent headphone cables? I'm not going to pretend that I hear a difference between them, I don't, other than 2 specific cases (1. if the cable is so so terrible that you'd rather choke yourself with it or 2. vibration noise that you can hear whenever the cable is bumped or slides) but the tactile difference is huge. I mean I just like handling and feeling the cable (yes, in b4 someone makes a pulling wire joke...).

Thanks to reviews I was warned in advance and got myself some nice braided cable to go with the BL-03s and it make such a difference. Easier to coil up and unwind, doesn't vibrate/resonate into my ear, and just feels great. My only wish is that they would drop the cable guides to make the cable go over you ear. Maybe others like those but I'm a let it hang loose kind guy (yes... let's extend the metaphor why don't we...).

EDIT: my only regret is not buying a few more, they were significantly discounted over black-friday weekend on Ali-Express. I bought them along with the BL-03s (The BLs were only $25. Landed cost for them was like R350!)

This is a high res audio player for audiophiles.

It’s cast aluminum with aluminum dials at the top. The one on the left controls the equalizer settings, of which there are 13 channels.

Interesting that they decided to make the equalizer settings so easy to change, rather than buried in the OS.

If I recall, it has a 256gig SD card and cost ~£1250

Early heads up for stuff I'm gonna sell to make way for a new DAC. I'll make a plan to photo, price and post them this week some time.

1. Airsoft R2R DAC
2. Shure SRH1540 headphone (excellent closed back headphone. Z got this review pretty wrong)
3. Item 3 TBC in time. Deciding what else to let go of but not quite sure yet

I can only let the Airist go when my new DAC arrives, which will prob be early April. The Airist is a superb DAC. There's a thread on it over at AVF. Hard to find now as well.

Disclaimer: Stating the obvious, but the sales are only official when I create the sale threads (will probably do so this week or over the weekend).

Fiio e17. Worth it for Sennheiser Game One?
You gaming only or also for music? If it's for gaming I would recommend the Astro Mixamp over other DAC/amps (it's also half the price). If it's for music as well, then that's a different story.

Update:

Item 1: Going up for sale in the coming weeks (waiting for news on the D90 MQA)
Item 2: Sold (OHPTU)
Item 3: This will be my FiiO Q5 with extra AM5 amp and cover.. just need to find the energy to post it some time

Not badly priced, actually. RRP £299

So since we do not have a dedicated audio section on the forum, smacktalk will have to do.

I recently bought a DT990 600ohm, and my goodness is it amazing for gaming. The soundstage is super wide and the separation is insane. It is light and the pads are among some of the most comfortable I've experienced. Had them on for around 6hours yesterday with 0 discomfort at all. Only moot point for me is the non detachable cable, but I will mod that eventually.

If the 250ohm are anything close to this one, it's a no brainer for me. At their price point, it will be tough to beat for gaming.

Your thoughts @Ninja_Theory ?

That's an amazing headphone.

I've gone for a much cheaper option - the AKG K240 Studio - very light, open back with suede cups - great for wearing for extended gaming hours without it weighing you down. I've connected it to a Behringer UM2 audio interface so I can give it a little more juice if I want to.
