Any truth in the HD58x Jubilee being a rebranded HD660s?
Interesting read...
One might think the HD58X Jubilee is a poor man’s HD660S and would not be far off in that assumption.
The HD660S is somewhat more ‘refined’ and ‘tighter/neutral’.
At this price-point the HD58X is very hard to beat.
The good news is that with some small modifications the HD58X can sound VERY close to the HD660S for just a fraction of the HD660S’s price.

So not my thoughts because I've never used one, but based on measurements:

As such, iFi iDSD Black Edition gets my strongest recommendation in headphone DACs and Amplifiers
Looks like you have a winner there.

As an aside, thanks to Load Shedding, I f*ing love my SoundBlaster E3. Not gonna lie, I was somewhat on the fence about getting it initially, mostly because I thouight maybe I'd be better served by a desktop unit (which I still plan to get) but boom load shedding and man am I happy with this thing because:
  1. It has a battery
  2. Bluetooth from iPad/iPhone
  3. (here's the kicker....) two headphone outs so the wife and I could listen together :)

It's like the Anti-Zeos. Zeos is all emotion and rambling in a video, spitball what he hears/feels. ASR is measurements, on paper, graphs etc, comparison, but still with a sound/listening review.

EDIT: not implying the one approach is better than other, just contrasting the two :)

any way does anyone have an onion on the monoprice desktop amp?
Sandwiches, toasters, onions, I'm confused

Not having used it myself but again, from recent reading/reviews/etc cause I might be looking to get a desktop amp, it appears that the Liquid Spark is very good at its price point and is recommended. I'm considering the JDS Labs Atom myself but purely because I prefer it aesthetically. But I may just decide to hold-off for now and getting something higher-end at a later date.

so the monoprice will come to like 2k with shipping, out of my price range, ive seen the following to on banggood and gearbest,
which seem to be clones of each other, the x6 seems to be powerful enough to run a dt990
the output of both seem to be the same :
Output power: 90mw/600 ohms, 180mw/300 ohms, 450mw/100 ohms, 610mw/62 ohms, 910mw/32 ohms, 1000mw/16 ohms.
it could probably get me to december when i could get a brand name amp.

You sure that would include taxes etc. You might find that once customs etc. get added on you end up R2k anyway, then again that unit has a DAC whereas the Liquid Spark is only an amp
.
Do you need a DAC/Amp or just an Amp? If just and amp then maybe this will fill the bill?

Otherwise scour the second hand sales.

Don't underestimate the importance of the DAC...it changes (can change) everything.
not sure if you where responding to me but the Fx audio and Lynepauaio both have 24bit dac build in:
The DAC part adopts the fine CS8416+CS4398, and the amp chip-set adopts OP275+TPA6120, DAC+ digital audio decoder, which is a shocking music sound field.
As a common fever chip combination, CS8416+CS4398 has a detailed record in the electronic magazine and various application materials. It can be seen that its performance and sound quality are recognized by the majority of music lovers. What we do is optimize the power supply and adopt high precision. The active crystal oscillator makes the effect reach its limit.

i dont understand what the about gay stuff mean but i guess it should be okay.
