Amazon is all sold out. New stock arriving some time soon I think. The Quests (both versions) have sold like hot cakes worlwide. Stock depletion on BF and Cyber Monday and the ensuing days. It's wonderful news - the VR community has grown exponentially and this, I think, driven mostly by the Half Life announcement

Also, the Amazon route took 5 days from order to delivery in my hands.

Edit : I see theres 2 in stock for the 64GB version and 1 for the 128GB version

Difficult to say actually - I ordered a bunch of stuff

If you add the Quest to your cart and follow through on the payment process - right before you actually pay - it will come up with the total shipping and customs charges - should be under $100 I reckon

Party link also has a 5m cable now.
And then there's the official cable of course.

I haven't gotten a cable yet. I got virtual Desktop set up and have been quite impressed. Adds something like 30-40ms latency, but no wires!

Thanks I ordered the party link 3m cable ... I’m a bit worried ordering a 5m because it seems some ppl hav problems with 5m lengths ... I had a 1.5m cable working perfect but then ordered a 5m active extension usb 3 but it didn’t work .. it is picking it up as a usb 2 wore .. it has something to do with the signal and cable being long . So yeah waiting on my party link to arrive end of week ... but overall I’m very impressed with using the link

I'm still torn about the link. I got a 3m Anker cable to try it, but find it quite 'limiting'.
Virtual desktop is a little laggy, but fine for many titles. Lag is significantly less over the cable.

Suspending a 5m near the centre of the room and then plugging in the 3m might be less of an issue.

I have the unitek 5m active extension on takealot but it didn’t work .. someone I met said it worked for him tho ... I think max is 6m in total you can use .. anything longer I’m not sure works .. it has something to do with power carrying the data .. I have the 3m party link cable now but does not work with the 5m active extension ... I’m think mayb a 2m active extension might work ?

Still torn about cable vs wireless.

My son explicitly says he wants to "play (game) without a cable" lately.

The active extensions don't always work, but I'm considering getting one to suspend from the ceiling near the middle of the room, then plugging in the normal 3m from there.

But the cable will still get in the way...

Virtual desktop added a similar ?tiling? option that reduces latency and with controller prediction turned on it is even less noticeable now. Think the numbers were sub-30 in some cases.
