These include ones that contain corpses or blood (of any color), titles that have anything to do with the country's imperial history, and gambling games such as Poker or Mahjong, which originated in China.

Damn, hope this don't spill over to us. Don't think I can even name one game without blood / corpses these days.

Pokemon... solitaire... need for speed (though the new one has a loot system akin to loot boxes which could be considered gambling)
But yea, still sucks for the Chinese gaming community though all the fun games like Postal they will now no longer get to play :(

Whaha. The psychologically inept child of the world it would seem. Even though the irony is strong with the Mahjong thing, i can sortof understand it. But the crap about imperial history is just downright pathetic mentality (mentarity?). Like someone who still cant deal after 50 years to see/acknowledge their ex. Just deal with that it happened and move on... Now the rest of the world will not only play the games you banned with an 'oFfEnSiVe HiStOrY' but you cant even regulate/set things right should they be misrepresented. Dumbass SJW-triggered mentality.

It has nothing to do with SJW mentality and everything to do with Communist censorship. You have to keep the populous ignorant. That's the only way the system works.

That is true, and is ironically enough used in the one place which is most populous (vs social democratic countries like Denmark who are in exact opposition to this kind of mentality). I was purely drawing a parallel to the kind of inept/useless psychology of those who are running the state. Have a friend that teaches English there, and the amount of hypocrisy when it comes to racism (the locals/chinese are 'allowed' to be disrespectful to the point of being full blown racist to foreigners - but should that be returned in kind you are exiled/expelled from the country). Hell, i've even heard stories where teachers who returned from china wrote things on their facebook wall about their experience (and we all know facebook is banned in china) - yet the wankers keep tabs on you, and they will block you from coming into the country (this happened to a friend's friend) if they find something they dont approve of... (HOW ARE YOU ON FACEBOOK CHECKING MY FACEBOOK IF YOU DONT HAVE FACEBOOK, FLIED LICE PLICK!

I wonder, will this mean already released games say for example on Steam , must be removed ? If that is the case then how the hell does it work, you paid for something and now you don''t have it anymore ?

Steam will have to figure it out or they just get banned from China like Google and Facebook.

Wait there is more :

The state has set limits on when you can play and how long you can play – children under 12 will be limited to just one hour of play per day, 13-18-year-olds get two hours – and overall there is a ban on play between 9pm and 8am. There is also talk of using facial recognition to help enforce the limits. There is talk that too much play will impact social credit scores.

The blood, death and gambling has always been banned in China. Their D3 and Path of Exile had to go through so many changes to remove all the blood and skeletons...

That time limit thing sounds a bit excessive though. I can understand they would be able to implement it in Internet Cafes, but how will they even possibly enforce that at every home that has a computer or gaming console.

Okay so I read the article, its based on Tencent games (which owns rights to a lot of games in China). In particular that one game but noticed :
By the end of the year, the system will be in place for 10 mobile games, Tencent says. It plans to expand the system to all titles in 2019.

Yup. Actually old news.
