So the rumor mill was true, the next NFS game is indeed Hot Pursuit 2010 Remastered.

So how do ya'll feel about this? Anyone else as pissed and 1000% fucked off as I am right now?

Heat showed promise once again for a franchise that was dying and then they go and pull this nonsense again. An absolute showcase of EA's ultimate laziness by remastering a game that isn't really that old and has absolutely zero depth to it. This is what happens when you give things to Criterion. That company is like cancer. Anything it infects tends to die.

I'm actually quite surprised that it doesn't cost R1000. Must be a mistake

TBH remaster is easier to do, Cost effective and can generate max profit for low cost(EA way of thinking).... that is why. Imagine they had to remake 2005 MW or Underground/Underground 2..... Would cost more and require more time to Develop so yeah not surprised but ill just wait till its in gamepass and play it once and never again

I'm happy with that. HP2010 was the last "proper" NFS going back to its roots. NFS was always about racing exotic cars you're unlikely to see in real life around exotic locations (jungles, erupting volcanoes, etc). There hasn't been a single "ricer" NFS I've really enjoyed.

It's not a "proper" NFS. It's just something to make money in a year where there's no brand new NFS title (2 year dev cycle, last one was last year only).

Keen to see what they do with the new NFS next year, hope they ditch the PS4/XB1 for it.

Hot Pursuit was a banger. I'm quite excited, hopefully multiplayer is fleshed out.

Comparison vid. "Remaster" is basically the same as the PC version lol.

I personally think NFS turned to shit after Most Wanted. Ok Carbon was still fine as well although the story was a bit short.

I loved Prostreet and Shift but I'm sure the NFS purists wouldn't call either of those "a real Need for Speed game".

Same here, Shift was awesome. Prostreet was very buggy (high speed ping pong) but was my first entry back into NFS after a long hiatus.

And one for the "purists": NFS 1 was just a Test Drive clone and as such not a stand alone NFS title.

all i want is a Most Wanted remaster that is identical to the original with better ai and better graphics. is that too much to ask for EA?

Criterion is only capable of making one game, and that is Burnout Paradise. Everything else they touch is just a skinned version of that essentially. I gave up on NFS eons ago (which is sad, because I used to love NFS games) and moved to Forza Horizon for my more arcade racing fix.

Thank you! It makes so much sense now. The new NFS's all feel like a turbo boosted car game, which is exactly what Burnout is.

I haven't played NFS since Carbon, I tried every installment after that but my record is 5 min, I can't like the way those cars handle after playing Forza Horizon.

Considering NFS Hot Pursuit (2010) is quite possibly my favourite NFS the answer is nope. The racing was amazing and to this day I still think it's one of the prettiest games every made. That said I'm not super excited either because it doesn't seem any better.

I've come to a realisation. NFS won't be NFS again till they drop Frostbite, Hot Pursuit (2010) proves this. Frostbite just wasn't made for the fluidity of movement you need from a Racer. After everyone that said Heat is great I was rather underwhelmed, I actually think I enjoyed Payback more, it was just Rivals with customisation and a story with most of the flaws Rivals introduced still present. I really don't like the return to the Rivals Racer model of play without the cops side to offset the frustration.

That said....give me Rivals Remastered...in other words 60 FPS+ 1080P+ Rivals on PC and I'd be rather very excited because that was one of the worst PC ports in the history of porting.

Did you play Batman Arkham Knight on pc during launch? :ROFLMAO:

No. But I have played Konami games.

I understand Arkham Knight got much the same treatment as Rivals just with more bugs but also more FPS.

I don't mind this remaster - it's a 10year anniversary commemorative edition, not a new game and it never pretends to be anything else.

I absolutely love that they remastered Burnout Paradise a year or two ago - I loved that game and have many many fond memories of playing it, no other car game has ever come close to the amount of fun that game produced for me.

Playing the remaster gave me exactly as much pleasure all over again and if this NFS remaster can do any of that for a person who have a similar fondness to NFS HP, then let them enjoy it.

If that person is not you...then don't buy it - duh!

Tried this out on the EA Play Pro pass. Graphically it looks exactly the same as the original PC version with a few props added in here and there. Remaster my ass 🤣 🤣 🤣

If they managed to recode the FPS limit then I would've bitten. I liked the old one on Xbox 360 years ago, but when I attempted to play it on PC I was greeted with exceptional input lag and just overall shittyness. I was hoping the remaster would at least fixed those things but because it apparently didn't, I'm skipping.

Yeah like how the fuuuuuck even in modern times do you still limit a game to 60FPS. I mean seriously?

And the funny thing is on the map the game runs well over 200FPS...

A YouTuber I watched said the devs tried to run it at 120FPS iirc, and it wasn't good. They then just left the limit at 60... So yeah. I think it's as @Nyt Ryda said. Basically the old game was R450 anyway. They're just giving you a slight reskin on steam and adding the DLC for free. But with the added effect of players purchasing it whereas they wouldn't have bothered purchasing it had it not been for the hype.

Rivals at 30 FPS wants a word with ya......

Heh I forgot about that one, but then again that game was pretty forgettable too. Burnout with a different skin and name. It is 7 years old though haha
