Hi Guys.

I'm new to the mining thing. I have set up an nicehash account and have been mining on it to see what it is all about. Was wondering if there is any advise to give and what to look out for. Im planning on going a little bigger if it is worth it. I mined some bitcoin (22Mhs), ravencoin (19Mhs), and Eth(23Mhs). My rig amd rysen 5 3600 6 core. Radeon RX 570 8gb. Any advise will be appreciated.

Check your profitibality if it is worth it vs the power you use.Etherium is still the best coin to mine for now. Also look for the best overclock settings for your card and set it with Msi Afterburner for lowest power usage vs hashrate. You can download Nbminer and other miners and just mine to your Nicehash wallet google is your friend

Hey bud, if you are gpu mining right now you are barely breaking even. I mined eth, zelcash (flux) and raven coin back in 2017 with x6 gpus and made a good deal of dough. However last year I explored other options like
Helium HNT and Planetwatch to earn passive income with far better results even in the short term. Personally I think GPU mining is more for long term speculative gains, in retrospect if I mined eth and flux until today
with that 6 card rig I'd literally be able to buy property and retire early with consistent rental income.

With all types of crypto mining ROI is the most important thing and 2nd is running costs, if you have those 2 down then you should be cool.

Thanks man. Where can i get a accurate profit calculator?

For single coin mining I'd use flexpool but if you want a good long term project to invest in along side Ethereum I'd do dual mining with ezil.me for mining eth and Ziliqa in tandem. Ziliqa had some good price action recently and is a very promising project as well.

If you are keen on IOT mining I would recommend getting a Planetwatch or Helium miner as the running costs are almost non existent.

I made my ROI in less than 2 weeks with my first planetwatch miner (type 4), if or when the price hits R7.50 per token again or even R4
then my other type 3 miners with each make between R5500 - R10500 monthly while using as much power as a wifi router so being
in a country with constant power problems it would only make sense to have a passive income which can be backup power if need be.

In crypto the safest bet is to diversify in your investments.

Also any good sites you would recomend in S.A to purchase these planewatch and helium miners from
thanks

Euca is the best place to get a sensecap m1 helium miner, planetwatch miners are available through planetwatch directly but there's a waiting period of 6 months if you want to get one your best bet is fastminers. I have a spare type 3 sensor available if anyone is keen.

is it all you need is the senso?
how much do you want for it?

SARS knows about mining & DON'T try to hide it from them.

SARS knows about mining

I'd imagine so. Hard to live in SA and miss it you know ?

Hi @RoboRob

The GPU Mining landscape is about to be turned upside down. The Etherium coin is going to be changing from POW (proof of Work) to POS (Proof of Stake) and will no longer be using GPU for mining at all. The will probably result in the bottom falling out of the GPU market and absolutely tons of cards coming onto the market as and nothing else really makes sense to mine at this point in time.

Helium mining is also going through a lot of changes so profitability is a bit unstable at the moment. I do have 4 x Sensecap miners available if you are interested but you really need a good location for it to make sense. Hotspotty - Your all-in-one tool for building the Helium network is a pretty good tool to work out projected profitability on sites.

Would just mine Etherium with what you have for the time being using T-REx miner and the 2miners pool so you can get paid out in BTC, otherwise the GAS rates will kill you. Wouldn't buy any more GPU's until ETH POS comes into play and you can see the lay of the land
