I know it's old news by now but surprised nobody here is talking about it.

Any theories what the game is going to be about? I just got into Mass Effect Andromeda last week and I am enjoying it immensely. I don't understand why people seem to hate it so much.
There's some really great mods on Nexusmods for it as well.

Never played the original trilogy so figured I'll rather wait for the Mass Effect Legendary Edition to drop then play that.

The trailer for the next entry seems to suggest that it could be a sequel tying the original trilogy and Andromeda together. I'm quite excited for this. Just a pity it's probably 4 - 5 years before it will be ready for release.

Dragon Age 4 was announced in December 2018 and 2 years later we only have 2 cinematic trailers for it.
The next Mass Effect is far far off.

Most of the original Bioware leads like Greg Zeschuk (left 2012), Ray Muzyka (left 2012), Casey Hudson (left, came back and left again) and Mark Darrah are gone now. They put the guy who was in charge of Anthem 2.0 in charge of Dragon Age, no idea who is leading ME now.

Andromeda was good but a let down - not a good enough stage for a future trilogy.
They threw out the idea of being the first explorers to settle in new worlds in Andromeda and ended up going the route of "Hey you arrived late, there are already rebel humans around that have already met the TWO new alien species in an entire new galaxy lol.
It could've been so great. Add more species, more complicated dynamics between them like Geth/Quarian etc but it fell flat IMO.

Anthem was a mistake.

Bioware is sinking and riding off past successes. Mass Effect Legendary Edition might be the only thing keeping them afloat until their next game and if the next Dragon Age crashes like Anthem then they might close for good.

When Andromeda launched it was a buggy mess like CyberPunk 2077. There was always potential for a decent game there, I mean it is Mass Effect after all which was a great franchise, but at launch the usual problem of it being rushed out the door before doing proper QA testing resulted in a complete mess. The facial animations!!! Ah the facial animations lol they were advertised as revolutionary as being the ticket to the next generation of immersion effectively drawing the gamer in to the story by allowing them to connect emotionally with the characters. Only problem was, at launch they were completely broken. Every character looked either utterly confused or downright angry even if you were like following the romance dialogue or simply completing their mission for them! Yeh by now, hopefully, with patches and community support through things like fan-made mods it's probably quite an enjoyable game. But just like Cyberpunk, those who were amped for it when it launched and were let down horribly by the money-grubbing side of the gaming business will never look at it fondly again regardless of how much fixing has been done.

Many of the leads on the original Mass Effect trilogy that originally left is now back and working on the new Mass Effect game. One of the head honchos dropped a few names on Twitter recently.

On Twitter, Mass Effect Project Director Mike Gamble singled out narrative designer Dusty Everman (Mass Effect 1, 2, 3, Andromeda) and Parrish Ley (Mass Effect 1, 2, 3) as two of those who had left BioWare, and returned to work on the new Mass Effect project.

Gamble adds that "there are more" ex-Bioware developers returning for the new game, and explains "We've heard what Mass Effect means to you." While they've remained at BioWare, Gamble also points out that original Mass Effect art director Derek Watts, and programmer/designer Brenon Holmes are part of the new team.

If memory serves the reason why Dragon Age has taken so long is because of internal restructuring at Bioware in 2018, then later the devs were pulled off the project to work on Anthem and then after Anthem's launch many of them were working on Anthem 2.0. Completely pointless since it was cancelled. The Anthem skeleton wasn't bad and I was quite looking forward to 2.0. It could have been great.

But yes, Mass Effect is still far off. My 4 - 5 years estimate is a minimum. At least we know it's in development and being worked on. I just can't wait that damn long, not after enjoying Andromeda so much.

They should get Vicarious Visions to do the remaster. Tony Hawk 1+2 they did was really good plus Diablo 2 Resurrected they're busy working on now looks amazing. But I'm still looking forward to the Mass Effect Legendary edition. It's one of my favorite series.

Try the Outriders demo on Steam. Felt similar to Andromeda, especially the opening. Although it is quite different.
I considered it but the videos I watched looked kinda meh. Also, it's the Bulletstorm devs. To me that game was complete shit.

It's truly unfortunate when that happens. Many of these games do deserve a second look, especially Andromeda.

I must say though with Cyberpunk I personally didn't run into much bugs. Nothing game-breaking at all and nothing too distracting either. Perhaps just luck.

I can understand the frustrations people have and why they then abandon the game, but I can also understand that in most cases it's not the developers' fault, but the publishers that want to rush games out for profit.

Only played the first two mass effects. After reviews dropped about third, decided to not play.

On another note that seems to haven't been mentioned yet, Fable IV is also coming sometime (hopefully soon).

Lucky yeh. I only played it for around 20 minutes. Then I got into a fight with that Dumdum character, and managed to get around on to his flank, with my buddy still in front of him.

He. Never. Even. Looked. My. Way. I was able to just casually take my time and shoot him (several times I might add, he didn't go down easily) in the side of the head over and over as he took "cover" behind a potplant right next to me.

AI of that level of full-on retarded in a 2020 game was unforgivable. And made the rest of the game seem utterly and completely pointless to me. Like fighting against the special needs kids. Urgh.

So Mass Effect Legendary Edition launches in 4 days time...its a remake of the trilogy, not just upscaling the graphics etc, but in some instances they have improved the gameplay where they felt they could. What do you guys think of this?

120gb HDD space required for this, as per EA's desktop client.
