New build advice

  • Don't forget to budget for case fans and a way of managing them (splitters, hubs/rgb controllers, etc). The O11 doesn't come with any and can take quite a few.
  • Split the OS/App drive from the rest. It's makes things easier in the long run. Something like a good 250GB 2.5 SATA SSD for OS/Apps and 500GB NVME for game drive. Later add 2GB or higher 3.5 internal drive or 2.5 external drive for data/backups/etc.
os - 512gb NVMe
games n stuff - 1.25tb ssd
random stuff music n videos movies- 2tb hdd

Wise is a better word :)
Because Wootware import it directly they can offer at a great price.
Same with your Turkish delights. Samsung quality at Mushkin prices.

Yip i am sure to your knowledge only "wootware" imports mushkin funny really as for my turkish stuff if u can find around kindly show me ;) ?

Was that AiO your first choice? I just got the same case and realized my 240AiO is going to look like shit. What are the options in the 360 space?

@SILTECH786 . No you misunderstand my intent.
Was comparing the fact that you import quality sweets ( Samsung ) @ Mushkin ( great ) prices.
Was meant as a complement :)

^^ In quest for RGB shrine, picked cheapest 360mm rad AIO cooler on wootware.
Suspect it will be much bigger than needed and more for the "look".

Thanks again to everyone for input.

Parts have been ordered from @Wootware Computers.
Opted for a Corsair nvme m.2 drive, the 3600 instead of 3600x and some Corsair 3200mhz CL16 ram.
Stuck with the 2070 Super :)

WHAT IS YOUR THOUGHTS ON A COOLER
120mm AIO performs similar to the stock cooler
240mm performs like a TOP Air cooler
360mm depends if you can fit in your cas also cost

After 240mm its almost all down to how quiet you can get the build to sustain it at the delta T it runs at.

With a 120mm Aio and even a custom loop the fans have to work double as hard to ensure enough heat is exhausted enough to keep it as cool as a 240mm running with the fans at a slower speed.

The size of the rad essentially just brings down the required fan speeds to push out the same amount of heat as its spread across a greater area to be expelled.

Honestly good thermal paste and fans are a bigger factor than Rad size for an AIO.

Just my 2c from having AIO's and custom loops 🤷‍♂️

Soo many wires with all the RGB fans and PSU cable extensions... but it went together last night.

I think the friend is stoked, the case is very nice, I want to steal it.

It's really cool that you can get a good CPU and GPU for pretty reasonable cost these days.
Remember when crypto mining caused the market prices to go nuts and Intel still only offered quad cores? Fun times.

It's really a situation of nitpicking over components these days as even an AMD 570 8gig will play 1080P games really well and is damn cheap.
If you want 1440P gaming performance, it's not hard to get with a reasonable budget.

Before, it was really about how much could you sacrifice on other components to plough money into the GPU because they were so expensive.

Back in the day though, you could get a decent mid range build for close the price of a 2070 Super.
Haha if I remember correctly my Athlon 64 + 6600gt lasted ages and cost somewhere around R6000... including a CRT.
Probably not fair to compare to prices from ~2005/2006 though.

Bonus picture of the build discussed in this thread now that the owner has figured out how to RGB:

Razor I also think that the death of Moore's law is a factor since it's now harder and harder to produce smaller and smaller chips.
Look at Intel and 10nm. Cost has gone up exponentially.

Inflation is a factor but I think just the R and D cost is too big of a cost to not increase the price dis-proportionally.

A quick calculation of inflation puts R6000 as at January 2005 to July 2019 at R13 466.93.
5.9% annual increase.
